Does anyone know the test conditions that AMD uses? What kind of cooler do they use on the chips? A stock AMD heatsink/fan? So if my TCaseMax is 57C thats the max temp the chip reached during their testing procedure at stock speeds?Quote:

i now officially announce that the theaory about with higher TCaseMAx the better O/Cer is 100% true
and the proof:
first i owned a 0551 ccbwe 165 , was able to do 2.52GHz @ 1.4v, 2.2GHz @ 1.225v

now i got the cance to replace it with a 0609 ccb1E and it is now stable @ 2.4GHz @ 1.15V ONLY and still going up

this is my venice E6 3000+, its kinda strange, before i took the ihs off the tcase is 55c and tdp arroun 38c, after ihs off, this is what happened, actually no gain in oc after ihs off (tcase increase).... :(

Its got a weird stepping too: ADA4400DAA6CD CCBWE 0528MPM 4403998J50015. It looks like its missing a W or something after 0528MPM, but thats exactly how it is on the ihs.
can anyone mail me the newest one, since i cant enter the website...

seems i have an awesome cpu. i knew it already but this verifies it. btw, that core temp program shows my core 0 idle around 31c and core 1 idle around 38c. load temps are both 50-51c.
supertimor, i guess they give us Canadians the hotter cpus to keep us warmer. :)

Processor is wrong...I have a 3500 Orleans and VCore is wrong, I'm at 1.55 and Socket is wrong, I'm AM2 and I can't get TDP...my MaxTCase rating looks low! Makes sense...my clocks aren't making me happy, lol
 So the TCaseMax and TDP values can change? I thought those values were written in the CPU at the factory and will never change.Quote:

AMD64 TCaseMax only works on RevE chips. As Core Temp now supports all K8 chips, I added the code to it. So when you run the program it will show you your TCaseMax and TDP.
Core Temp
startup VCore I assume means minimum voltage for the thing to POST? Since my Vcore is currently set to 1.5v
and 55*C seems awefully low  could this be somehow related to my limit of 2.86GHz? I'm not near that temp but I wonder, after reading some of the posts in this thread.
hmm...

the hotter but also the better :banana:Quote:

my dualcores hold the trend, as do most others listed here. Singlecores deserve thier own comaprison as well, and really i think it should be broken down to 512k and 1mb parts too. You also need to keep in mind that max clocks acheived are only really comparable with same mobo/mem, so everything here you see you must take with a grain of salt.
have u been watching this thread from the startQuote:

did you even read what I wrote?
He said he can OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE that maxtcase theory is TRUE cause of HIS OWN TWO chips.
yeah, officially for himself. This dude some authority to you or something, that you take it personal?:stick:

Haven't seen any Opteron 152's here yet. This one's a CABCE 0512UPMW I just picked up from Monarch.
Nice program, thanks! :)
Oops, there's Core Temp now!
