dont jump to conclusions! put it in and see how it goes. see how far you can take it at stock volts that should give you a little indications on how its gonna scale.

yeah im gonna install it in a bit and see what happens .. what is the best way to test it ?? prime 95 ?? sp2004 ? whatever that is ?? should i use cpu burn and try and burn it in ?? etc ?

What I did with mine was see how far it would go on stock volts. When it fails prime then run a burnin then try again.

and mines an 0533 and it clocks ok, so don't be quite so negative. Later weeks aren't so poor on x2's, from what i've seen.

having trouble booting with 2 sticks of 1gb tracers .. no matter what my board will not boot with 2 .. one is fine .. 2 no go .. what gives ..

im just running default right now

using the DFI right?

Have you tried both of them in different slots? Both in orange, or both in yellow?
And try booting with just one, flashing your BIOS to 704bt and then try two sticks. 704bt really set my RAM working amazing.

Did ya get it in yet? I'd love to see how it does. Is it a BV of CD cuz I have noticed that the BV's are coming back out again and they are doing pretty well. Also run thecoolest's max case temp I would love to see what temp you get. GL!

yeap i did .. sticks work great by themselves .. but thats about it

At the end I decided to take my vapochill off from my Sandy and gave it a try to my X2 3800+, and well... :rolleyes: :D :D

Im burning in 2766mhz 1.4v. Previously took 1.43v to run this, so im making progress. Found a rather good technique.

I did't wanna give it more volts, just because a coupple of months ago I killed my winnie 3500+... (gave it 2.03v... :slap: )

there is a definite corrolation between the last 4 letters, and OCability. Yours - XPMW - OC's Well
My current one - UPMW - Does good
My old one - TMPW - OC's bad

i think the lower u are in the alphabet for the first letter (i.e. closer to Z) the better it OC's.

btw, running 2.03v thru a winnie, that is ROFLMAO. I felt a bit timid doing that with my old athlon xp, thru a 90nm chip, its no wonder it blew. Good story though.

I know, my friend here (my 3800+) was able to do 2600Mhz @ only 1.26v Prime Stable.

But I've seen some stuff which I don't like.
First of all, my coupple of 512Mb GSkill FR TCCD were able to do 315Mhz 2.5-4-4-6 1T on my Sandy (315*8), but on this Manny they only do 285Mhz 2.5-4-4-6 1T (impossible to set more than 310*10 and 166 devider without errors on memtest)

And the other thing is that this cpu is DAMN HOT!!! :explode2:
Right now I'm running Prime on both cores and the temp, with the vapochill, is +5º !! :eek:

I know... But I was playing with DICE and wanted to get more than 3.2Ghz... :D
The fact is that it's not dead. I can run the board with it, and it can post. but nothing more. I can't install windows, I can't log into an installed windows... nothing. :confused: I know it is the cpu cuz one day I was trying to install windows on a hdd, but couldn't. I tried for hours, and tried different devices... NOThINg. At the end I decided to try my Venice 3000+ and workes fine!! :confused: :eek: :stick:

Yeah they are really hot chips! Just make sure you keep that PWMIC area cool. My chip does 3.1ghz at 1.58v so they sound pretty equal (or maybe yours is a little better) But either way I am glad for you!

My chip did seem to like BH5 better than TCCD. Dont know why but it did maybe memcontroller related dont know.
