Yep mine did to.... I dont think its unreasonable to expect a NEW cpu to prime at stock speed.Quote:

I got a ZZF (CAA2C 0505DPMW) -- OK
Oh well this is great. If i keep the one from Newegg i have a chance of getting a poor overclocker and if i keep the one from ZZF i have a chance of getting one that can't even run stock speeds lol.Quote:

My first runs stable at 2772, although the memory controller won't run 1:1 past 260 or so. I'm hoping that when my VX gets here the memory controller is good enough to run 252x11 1:1 2-2-2-5 and then I'll be happy :)
I did play around with the bad one and I could underclock it and run all the way up to 283 1:1 (as far as I tested).
I wouldn't worry about getting a bad one, it is not the norm.
I've got a CAA2C 0504WMPM and waiting a new NEO2
wish it will clock great on air !!
Good luck! It seems that 2600 is all but guaranteed... beyond that is icing on the cake. Lucky me getting two CPUs that can't overclock very well... :shakes:
Just got my new CPU with CAA2C stepping. Was hoping for a better overclock then my old 3000+. It was stable @ 2.7GHz (1.6v). Anyway that one died of overvolting. Suicide screenshot attempt with 1.85v on air was just to much :p:
Back to the new one. It can run 10x265 stock volts. Then the temprature is ok, but as soon as I start to raise the voltage, the temps are through the roof. With my XP120 and silent fan, max temp on my Winnie @ 1.6v was low 50's (celcius) This is what I get with stock voltage on this one. And if I raise the voltage to 1.6v here, I get high 60's ( 65 - 67 )I'm able to get it stable @ 2.7GHz with 1.575v now. Then the temps are low 60's ( 61 - 63 )
Are these high temps on these CPU's normal? I mean these are even hotter then my old FX55. Very strange......
yeah, i've noticed that too about temps...
at stock to 1.6, temp stays around 48 to 54 load
then at 1.6+ it jumps to close to 60C+
Have got myself one like these also, a 0506 GPMW.
Running smooth at 2.5G at stock voltage. Ran prime95 for 9 hours yesterday without a problem.
Highest I could get the cpu, superpi 4M benchable is 2.8G but with rather much voltage and high temps.

Can only do one run at once at these speeds. Think the cooling is failing a little bit.
And I've also noticed they run quite hot, idling at 48° on the 2.6G-settings. Or could also be I didn't apply enough AS.
cool
Good, what vendor?Quote:

Welcome to the sickness.
I think I've been pretty lucky now that I look at it... 2.9ghz on water.... iQuote:

bad if I stop at 2.9ghz @ 1.648v with water.... :)

nice cpu gocchin!
Suaria: codima.be , the shop I work at in the weekends.
Thanks jup, great board by the way. Now it doesn't refuse to cold start anymore, something to do with those winnie's maybe...
what sort of temps should these chips run at @ stock ??
Just got my superclaw 3500+, it's a CAA2C 0504 MPMW, now I just gotta wait for my VX (should be here early next week) and then I can test, I'm aiming for 2.7GHZ on air (XP-120)
Thank you!Quote:

Wow... this seems to be an awfully familiar story. These chips on average will go to 2.6 at around stock voltage and not move an inch after that. The best ones seem to do 2.8+ but seem to be rarer than originally thought.Quote:
