Components are near identical, just some people prefer the look of the eclipse over the talon. Though i love how the TSI looks..:)Quote:

Yeah but what I asked was, is it cheaper that way vs buying the Eclipse instead? Just trying to learn something about those cars :cool:Quote:

Hopefully without the gaudy ground-effects? Otherwise nice cars.Quote:

@CanadianTSi: You planning on removing the talon spoiler? I think it would look a lot better without it.
I kinda like it as its the only 97-98 Talon piece left on the car and it makes it a little different. Although I might go Wingless with a CF Hatch over the Winter.
Got a 06 Mustang GT last night... will post pics later
Crankwalk is bound to happen with 2G's, especially on a 97 like mine. I'll be doing a 6bolt swap this spring.Quote:

runs 13.2 with 315 street tires, but best i could do with the 275 avion's on the back was a 13.8, with dr's should run a 12.9
i know i probably over did it, but ummm lol, i like taking pictures of cars.
well a ford and a chevy in the same driveway. I wonder if they fight at night when no one is around? j/k
Nice cars you got there. Love the camaro, that mustang is awesome as well. You guys are either lucky guys or hard working guys.
lol, my brother we are fortunate of having a dad that puts up with alot of :banana::banana::banana:, my brother went thru 2 motors and trannys on the stang. he paid for the last motor since my dad was tired of it lol. and then my brother got a loan for the camaro. and now i get the mustang which i hope to put a kenne bell and t56 on within the next year or so.
Dude, you do know that makes absolutely no sense right? My GSX has 110k miles on it and I'm expecting it to crankwalk within the next 25-30k. Any 2g eclipse used as a daily driver, especially at the higher miles, and especially with stronger trannies or clutches, are going to crankwalk. If the eclipse is used for racing, it probably won't happen...it's the daily shifting for hours on end that causes crankwalk.Quote:

Let's set this straight for anyone who's confused. Crankwalk occurs on the 7 bolt motors (92.5-99). 1g cars are the least likely to crankwalk, 97-98 are the most likely to crankwalk. Some cars don't, some do it around 100k, some will do it later on.

Take a GOOD long read through this, out of all the people who responded, find me a few who were over 100k.... most of those were between 30k-70k....
2g cars = 95(end of the year) to 99.
2g's(7bolt) were more prone to crankwalk due to the different material/process used to make the crankshaft.
Just a few
"Crank walk at 62,000 miles....suxs!"
"
My 97 GSX with 24K miles got crankwalk so bad it looks like the crank hit
the block.
A six bolt motor is going in so I never have to worry about it again."
"The crankwalk started for me at about 40-45k miles and has only
gotten worse."
Not trying to argue with u enjoy, unless you checked your crankshaft yourself... or a mechanic did I wouldn't just into a 6bolt swap just yet..
