Ncch-dl is a good board. I like it. If you already have a pair of 1.6 lv's or plan on getting some. Just go with the pc-dl or something else. I heard the Iwill DH800 is a pretty good board for Xeons and OC pretty well.

Question... Is 150€ for a pair of 1.6LV QQV2 ES D1 Xeons a fair price?
I have the chance of buying 3 matched pairs for 450€... go for it or not?
help :confused:Quote:

you're looking at the proud owner of 6 cpu's now :D
Thanks for the advice ;)
Good buy Duc,the are good crunchers 280 on a bad day,320 and more on a good day;),thats 2.0ghz @ 3.1ghz:).
Nice guide. Got my 1.6lv D1s up and running on a PC-DL thanks to you Jeff! My only complaint is the noise coming from the IWTs, little loud for my taste. Anyone have some personal recommendations for good HSF that are quiet? I looked at the new thermalright's for Xeon's but they require the board to be laying flat from what i was reading.
How do the coolermaster freezers / swiftech HS's stack up to the IWT performance?
i just put my DX in a Lian-LI case and i can barlley her the fans now.
All 13 of them :stick:
Running them at 12v? Jebus, did i get a dud set of IWT fans? These are WORSE than the 92mm tornado i had running on an old system.
really? i'd heard that they were pretty bad, although not quite as bad as tornadoes. however, they are obviously going to be loud - they don't need the extra thickness for the motor if they aren't going to be.Quote:

I have 2 other comps. in the same room so maybe i just don't notice the noise anymore
but they are the loudest heatsinks i have but not the loudest fans i have i got 2 120mm sunons that put out 110cfm at like ~45DB and those are loud.
Maybe try oiling the bearing for the fan?? I had a 40mm fan that wouldn't run quietly, put some oil in there and now its cooling my northbridge better than before.Quote:

On air with the IWT's am running at 3.2ghz 15x213 :p: ,with temps at 45°c/48°c full load with 4 D2OL clients running rocksolid, now for about 4hours,so i think there solid:D.
On my test windows i almost had 3.4ghz :woot: ,3.390mhz i think it was, when i get the waterblocks for it,am sure that it will run D2OL at 3.3ghz maybe 3.4ghz but thats a big maybe i think.
What do you think guy's,will the run at 3.4 or maybe more on water,if i only can make it to give more vcore then now,its at 1.45/1.55 :( ,if i can give 1.6vcore or more that would be nice, then for sure it run's at 3.4ghz.
And also i find that the temps from the 1.6ghz LV ES is far more better(cooler) than the 2.0ghz LV that run before in this mobo,i dont say that its no good, nono i like my 2.0ghz LV's the do at 3.1ghz a steady flow of 300 candies p/d,but i gone try something out,it involves, doing no vmods, but i will see how far i get.
I dont have any pic's on line yet,but i will do that,so proof is comming;).
Rocker is thsi DX for Docking only?
If so your FSB speed has no effect on production of canidates only Mhz of CPU and latancy of memory.
just wondering why you were using the 15 multi. instead of 16
I can run 3.3Ghz stable if the computer is not in a case only 3.25Ghz in a case with "IWT" heatsinks
I now that fsb has no effect on candies, only pure mhz are doing the job best;).
This DX is for crunching and surfen, well infact its gone be my pc for daily use,but it stay's on for 24/7.
Why i used the x15 mp instead of the x16,was to see how far i can go with those 1.6ghz ES chips, but i did'nt try that hard(no time),i will do it again and do it good this time arround:),i have to get some wc-blocks to go the max.
Just had to share this here... I once had 5 DX rigs running... then I sold all of them... now I'm buying another one because of "the sickness". http://www.adventurevision.com/smilies/lol.gif Just too funny! :D
How many of those did I buy from you? :D
What... 2 or 3 right? You and DD bought most of them. ;)
There is someone on eBay selling NEW Asus PC-DL motherboards for $129.99 + $19.99 shipping/handling...
http://search.ebay.com/pc-dl_W0QQsof...trypageZsearch
Just thought I'd point that out in case anyone is looking for a/another PC-DL. :D
looks like a damn good deal. they even claim they include all the accessories.Quote:

It's almost a semi-yearly event with me. :) Too bad the cost of X2 and P-D equipment is soo high becuase I just can't justify spending the extra $$$ on something that won't produce any more/much more than these Xeons. I'm spending $200 for a PC-DL and two 1.6GHz LV Xeons... how can you beat that? (yeah, I got a great deal on the Xeons over at 2cpu.com)

Ahhh... that feels better.
Ya I saw that, 50 bucks for the pair, what a steal :DQuote:

I can't beleive how excited I am about getting this PC-DL/Xeon setup going. :D
BTW, I'm in the process of updating the information in the guide. I'm going through and updating prices and where to purchase the various components.
