No problem. Let me know if there are any other pics/info of these you'd like to see.Quote:

what are you're recommandations?
xyus
iwaki!?
did you even read any of the suggestions in the first post?Quote:

I've got an eheim 1060 cooling just the cpu atm which is cooled by a dtek ww. The rad is a double hc with 2 weak fans. I am using 7/16" tubing. I was considering getting an mcp600 since I have seen them around a few places for ~$40. My pump seems to be dumping a considerable amount of heat so I thought this might be a good idea.
My second question is would I stand to gain much by adding a second mcp600, because I could just get a WMD20RLT just to simplify things. Also, if I was to add an mcw50-t would it then be worth the extra flow?
I was looking to make some upgrades now since my motherboard is getting here tomorrow so I will finally be able to move away from my barton to an opty 146.
Xyus89: please read the guide....
gouda, not a whole lot to gain from adding another MCP600, or going for a Iwaki over ur current mcp600. if you have some extra money and dont mind spending it, then it would worthwhile, but if you have something better to spend the money on, then dont get another pump.
hello, i have hydor l30, it makse terreble noise, is ther any change to repair it? i know that the plastic thing in pump makes strong noise, any tips to mend it ?
not worth it to try to repair it.. low quality pump.. I suggest a replacement with a more reliable/better made pump.
Any idea if my performance gains would be significant over my current eheim 1060? Regardless, I will be getting atleast 1 mcp600 since I have an extra rad, tubing, and mcw50-t i figure i should go ahead and have seperate loops for my gpu and cpu.
edit->1 more question, do you guys run the mcp600's off of your computer's psu, or an external drive. I was thinking that it might be a bit much if I had the pump and a pelt going through my ocz 520w powerstream, but I don't actually have any idea how taxing the pump actually is.
mcp600 runs off of the psu.. very low wattage so no issues. 7watts to be exact.
if your running a restrictive system the mcp600 will be alot better than the 1060 and should be quite noticeable.
I'd say to just go for one of them.
Awesome, thanks alot for the help.
I have a P4 3.73E Prescott and a 7800 GTX (eventually going to get a second and run it in SLI). I have designed a cooling system using DangerDen waterblocks and i was wondering if a D5 pump would be sufficient to cool a CPU 2x GPU and chipset waterblock. I will eventually overclock my system. If not could u suggest a good pump that doesn't take up too much room. Also, what type of radiator would u suggest I use? Thanks.
Read the stickies. Cooling the chipset isn't recommended, as all it does is create more restriction.
There are alot of excelent passive cooling solutions for NB's. Some more creative than others.
Ok, minus the chipset waterblock would a D5 be sufficient? Also what is a good radiator for this setup. Thanks.
D5 will be fine.
I would suggest a PA120.3 to keep those 7800's and a cpu cool. Its an expensive rad, but well worth it if u dont want much noise.
for cpu I'd go with the Storm, and for gpu, either the low profile Maze4's or the cooltechnica MP-1.
btw, sorry i didnt respond very quickly, I dont check this thread too often.
Thanks, that helps a lot.
I'm looking to build a quiet, yet good, WC setup. I was thinking of getting the U2-UFO "Cube" case from MountainMods and house one of them Thermochill PA120.3 in it with three low-noise fans (with a fan controller probably). It should cool both CPU and two GPUs.
What pump would be best for this? How noisy are the pumps really? (I'm not on any tight budget or so, so just give me your best shots.)
Thanks!
Well if you have an extra 350 dollars you dont mind spending, the RD30 + 24volt PSU would be optimum. One of the chaps on the forum here found a PSU for these pumsp that is perfect becasue you can adjust it between 12 and 24volts to get the optimum pumiping power for your system.
If 350 isnt in the cards, I suggest the MD20RLZ. (sometimes it comes up as the MD20RGZ)
The two pumps i just mentioned are very quiet when properly installed on foam padding. But be warned if you dont instal them with the foam padding it will make your U2-UFO vibrate like mad.
Hey Maxxxracer! Thanks for the quick and good response!Quote:

1a. So those big Iwaki pumps are quiet?
1b. Which is more quiet, RD30 or MD20RLZ/MD20RGZ? And how big performance difference...
1c. What I'm thinking of is: If I need an additional PSU for 24v, wouldn't that produce quite a lot of extra noise? I'm not even sure on where to get a 24v PSU. But still, let's explore this option, sounds exotic. :)
2a. Iwaki pumps are even quieter than the AquaExtreme 50Z / MCP600 Rev2.0 / MCP655 (D5), yet more powerful? How much (both noise and performance)?
2b. How would one of those suggested Iwaki pumps compare to three low-noise fans (at around ~20DBA maybe)?
3a. Iwaki pumps are solid high-quality pumps that will last very long, right?
3b. Do they use 1/2" fittings or 3/8" fittings?
Actually I know where you can find an RD30 + variable output/12vdc input PSU for about $250US. ;)Quote:

1b: Hard to say which is the quietest. Dont have first hand experience with all 3 to compare. Performance difference is dependent on what your setup is. But since money isnt much of an issue for you, I suggest the RD30. Its also smaller than the other pump i mentioned.
1c. you can get psu's for these pumps that are fanless. I believe the one that mjgent is reffering to is fanless.
2a. about the same noise. a bit more bassy than the 50Z due to the increased motor size.
2b. some low speed fans should drown out the noise of the Iwaki. So you wont really notice the pump in operation.
3a. I have never heard of an Iwaki die.. ever.. If that isnt convincing, I dont know what is.
3b. the RD30 uses 5/8" fittings I believe. You can use 1/2" ID tubing with them, as long as you put some muscle into getting the tubing on.
Wow! That's quick there Max! :)Quote:

1c: Which one is this? Is it "good"?
2: Low freq isn't as annoying and easy to hear, no? So that should be good. (Just want to make sure I don't buy super-expensive pump and now I need buy earplugs TOO!!)
3a: I'm convinced. :p:
3b: I read in your guide that 5/8" between the resoir and pump is better than 1/2", because you don't want to risk "starving" the pump. So, this should be better right? But I should still use 1/2" for rest of system?
4: How many watts does the RD-30 draw?

Interesting, mjgent, YGPM.
