oppainter can stick clock up to 3.2ghz if the need arises.....
Well here's where we're at...
A P4EE 3.6/ES and an FX-51 are "about even". Advantage AMD, as the 3.6EE is really "vaporware". Now who's got more left? Macci at 4560, Opp at 3060. The highest LN2 suicide shot of an FX is about 3.3gHz. The highest suicide shot of a LN2 EE is 5.3ghz. I think the P4 may have more "left", but a retail 16x EE might not...
Effectively by comparing a 3.6EE, we're looking forward to the FX-53, 'cuz they will compete in the marketplace. After that, AMD needs mHz...the San Diego, if the .09 process goes well, should hit 3.5 on hard core phase change...with that...Northwood is OFFICIALLY dead. Possibility Prescott EE...hmmmm.
But, I regress. I think if Opp can squeeze another 100mHz out, he can bust 31K and go maybe 31.3K. Now Macci....not sure. Obviously the 4560 seems like that's about the limit on KILLER cooling. But Macci has LN2 experience...with LN2, 4800mHz is WAY possible. In that case, 32K is also.
Has anyone noticed that Opp and Macci are in their own world, as the rest of us are rowing away in the bowels of the ORB? Now I'm 2000+ points back in '01!!! And 3rd place is over 1000 points behind...
C
now now... im about 23.7k under...
really... i think macci has a good chance at winning this round. he's been popping these scores one after the other from 30.2 - 30.8 k over a period of 2 days.
sure, OPP took his time before because he was already in #1, but unless macci out of nowhere hits a wall(which i doubt), he can down 31k, and maybe even significantly higher(31.5k+).
the japenese have had both the fx-51 and p4EE under ln2, and as charlie said, macci has more headroom with his p4EE. he is about half a ghz under the top clocks, while OPP is about 200+mhz under.
exciting times for us 7k'ers... ;)
then again, that aint half bad with what i have...
Well charlie his CPU is running -90c load. -120c is as far as you can go before the CPU stops working properly. I don't think that can get him +250mhz benchable speed IMO.
Battle of the titans and very close too ...
This has been the most intense and enjoyable Orb battle for a long time, I hope it goes on a bit longer.
Whoever triumphs, macci and Opp have really now pulled out a gap on other folks, at least for the moment it seems ( not being disrepectful to other guys who also do massive scores here of course) .
And done in the right spirit as well .. cheers guys
:toast:
Regards
Andy
Yeah Charlie... I'm 14k4 behind :D
None of my benchmarks are doubled though, but it won't take long before it happens... ;)
Easily. LN2 and 2,1 V Vcore. I think it's possible to run benchmarks at 4800 - 4900 MHz clock frequency with the CPU macci has.Quote:

BTW, that -120C limit is not correct. It's more like -125 to -135 C :)

Thats the kind of statement taht push people like OPP and Macci...... nothing is impossible to these guys.......Quote:

Its just that when you're that deep into the negatives the gains diminish rapidly....i'm no expert on LN2 but it just doesn't seem right to gain 300mhz benchable from that...
ops a pretty lucky guy.

OPPAINTER at 3.2ghz
Yup pretty much so.Quote:

At the moment I can do SuperPi 1M at 4640MHz w/ 2.05V (measured from mosfet, CPU-Z says its 1.98V) and I'm quite sure that useing LN2 on this chip would make it run stuff at 4800-4900.
btw, the CPU can do 3D at 4.6GHz but my RAM is having problems doing 3d past 253 1:1.
Anyone got any good special mods for P4C800? :D
Macci,
How 'bout 15 x 320, 5:4, DDR512, cas 2, 2,5,2? LN2, 2.1V?? How'd that work??
C
yea, but he says "no bench". ;)Quote:

OPPAINTER at 3.2ghz
Quite Fast of course but show me a mobo that does 3D at 320 5:4 :D
i have one that does it with a 2.4c...... Im not sure if itll do it at 320x15 though....... send me the cascade and the EE and Ill test it out for you:D

back to the original topic...
Oppainter is 5 points away from 31k. clicky
id say he can run another test tonight and break it? ;)
oooooooofff nice score! :slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :toast:
He ain't done for tonight. Come on OPPAINTER, you're just a HD defragmentation away from 31K+.
yea.. i think he was getting a little worried that macci might take #1 spot from him. :DQuote:

I smell some Captain Cascade cooling in the mix there....
C
LOL....Opp and the Captains cooling...OMG!
