Is the new BIOS a BETA one or what? All I'm seeing is F3(Insert letter here) instead of F(Insert number here). And is it good? Does it allow better overclocking? Because I thought F3L was horrible and I've almost given up on this board.
Thank God Gigabyte came out with a new bios that enables 4cores and tweaks memory!

1st Impressions are its alot better than F3B in the memory department and seems alot faster!
Now what you need to do is........compare clocks speeds and results ;)
If they backed off the MRL to satisfy you guys that expect high ram clocks well clock for clock performance will be different.
Its probably F3L though with the unlock feature added since it appears F3L has been removed.
Yh i thought it could be F3L with added support for the 4th core but looking at the added memory bios setting i think it a all new bios!
I tried this new BIOS and I see no improvement at all. Still can't boot into Windows at 4Ghz no matter what kind of voltages I'm using, and it never worked.
Awesome news...too bad I found out 20 mins before going to work.
I can't wait to go home...and I thought I was going to just rest and stay away from technology tonight...yeah right!
I woke up this morning and saw there was over 500 replies in this thread and I sad myself it has to be a new bios. And it is true, well I got all excited when I saw the ACC option. But, the ACC function does not seem to work or unlock the fourth core on my system. I am not sure why, but It doesnt seem to unlock the fourth core, I will keep trying and update if I get it working. :(
If anybody unclocks the fourth core, please let us know how you did it.
Well, you can just about forget 4GHz with an X64 OS and this CPU, unless you have a big LN2 tank out back. ;) However, I am surprised about Win7 32bit not clocking on up as it actually clocks easier than Vista. Most of the 955s I have here are doing 4.2~4.3 with good cooling (strong air, decent water) on the 32-bit operating systems with 1.5V~1.55V.
To Unlock my 4th core i put acc to auto and acc firmwire to hybird! works a charm! Saves buying a 955x4!
OK got it working!!! now I can enjoy the fourth core with a nice bios. If you are trying to unlock the fourth core, there is a new option on ACC called "ACC Firmware" and you need to set that option to Hybrid in order to unlock the fourth core. I have just set my bios to my old clock setting and It seems to work nice, I am going to try some tweaking later to see if I can get better results. Here is a screen shot, Cheers

Unlocked 4th core with F3K, tried to start a game and got loud musk ox farts and insects screaming-continuously. Worse than F3b.
Going back to 3 cores.
You must have a bad 4th core!
You guys are killing me! Ok, 4 long hours to go......
Was playing with the board this weekend.. pretty sweet board. having trouble getting NB over 4Ghz. Seems like something is differnet in the "Auto" / "Default" settings versus the other AM3 mobo I have been playing with. MSI and other board got 4.3Ghz NB w/o a problem.
Maybe the new F3K will help out with the 4Ghz NB issue I am having. If not.. then it is time to fiddle w/ the BIOS :P

Check you Soundcard Drivers under Vista. Its a Know problem they can become unstable with XF-I And or when using Audigy.
Take oout the Card and try using Onboard sound .
If the Onboard sound works normal but the XF-I dosnt ,, Youll need to find a better XF-I driver driver.
This goes for PCI and PCI-E based cards and Vista 32bit/64bit.
Ive had the very same problem sometimes even with the M3A79-T deluxe.. Something to do with creative driver and ATI chip sets.
Just for reference my x-fi works fine. I am currently using those modded drivers that I cant recall the guy who modded them right now.
I used to run the Creative drives and had no issues either but maybe Ive been lucky.
The only time I get weird sound is trying to use WASAPI in Sonar 8.
NB is IMC, advanced ram tuning is your friend.......I have np clocking nb on any chips ;) FYI gigabyte undervolts NB, MSi if you used the read points with a DMM overvolts......so with msi it appears you need less volts in bios to do more, and with the gigabyte it appears you need more volts in bios.....
Have had NB up to 4700 on f3L.....so its not bios ;)
How'd you like that 34K+ 2x 4890 titon :D
4700! Jesus chew.
