What is your favorite rig you currently own?
I would have to say my Q6600, as it's my fastest at the moment and is getting good use as my senior design workhorse. Tho it's only running at 2.9GHz, as I don't really have the time to clock it higher and stability is kind of a concern getting down to this last month of school...
Need to get on completing my Harpertown system tho, I don't think 4 cores is quite doing it for me :p:
It takes a surprising amount of processing resources to demodulate/decode ATSC HDTV from off the air in real time, and read that as taking the RAW ANALOG signal(sampled with an A/D converter, 6.4M samples per second :yepp:) and doing all of the processing on the cpu. That includes all of the filtering and whatnot beyond rough tuning that would probably done in hardware by a PC tv tuner. So far I've been able to rework a few things and get it from 8x slower than real-time down to a little under 4x :X
This leaves me with the question for whomever chooses to answer, have you had the joy of working with POSIX Threads? :D
at one time i did work with some coding for the shell of linux but then i got busy with graduation and never came back to it.

I used to bench hardcore. AQ3, 3DMark, Sandra, HDTach, all that stuff.
When I get my new setup, I probably will again.

Opening my brand new P5N32-E SLI board only to find it was DOA :(

Never used it. Thinking about it, but I don't bench for glory, only against myself.

Yes I do, AMD has surprised us in the past with the Athlon 64.
What's the hottest CPU you have ever had?
E6600 that was like 75°C loaded at 3200MHz, 1.35V with TRUE, and now an i7-920 ES that goes up to 95°C loaded at 4050MHz, 1.375V with TRUE (it's not mine, I'm only testing it).
Have you tried Left 4 Dead demo already?
