yeah, I dont think its .NET now...
I think that I have found something about it....... :)
YES my VGAs under COLD got bugged by the "low score"..... :(
When I'm at -45*C, everything works fine......When I go below the limit of -45 to -50*C, I got low scores....
At -150*C, my VGA can go high BUT I have the "low score" bug.....
It has something to do with the temperature of:
a. the crosslink chip
b. the VGA's cores
I didn't had a lot of LN2 to test farther, but today I'll go and get some to test.
As for the a. , I have built an "AUTOcontrolled temperature electronic circuit" as for the crossfire chip so to keep it at + temperatures when the VGA goes under cold to see IF this is it or no..... :)
As for the b. , I'll think of something..... :)
Nor .NET neither the CCC are responsible of what happens here....... :(
Hehe, now you feel my pain that i warned you of ;) (sorry - its not a good thing just 'good' to see im not the only one)
On Monday we had a 6400MHz E8600 and :banana::banana::banana:loads of LN2 ready to go, only to hit the bug and get nowhere yet again.
I'll keep you informed..... ;)
My scores are with both GPU's at -110...
Heh, heh, heh....NAILED IT..... :D :p:

Working the Crossfire chip at ~ +20*C under cold.... :D

This one was taken during "de-freezing" the VGA after the bench, that's why it shows that the Cross Chip is "frozen"... :)

I just added 2 x 27 Ohms resistors 5 Watts each in parallel and I fed them with 12V.... :)
Man I've told you that again ... Your mods are scary ! Good job George
I suppose I might want to add...there might be a middle ground as far as the bugging goes which might be what George has "fixed"...
Awhile back I had a run at ~6270MHz and 1000/1020 which scored only 119k. It wasn't a "true" bugged run...but the GT2/GT3 were unusually low...some 20-30FPS worse than they should've been. Seemed to be a side effect of high front side bus to me at the time...
Good job hipro (as always)
nice one man
So the PLX chip just needs to run warmer than the cores. You test by chance how cold it can go? Would be nice to have it running sub-ambient rather than worry about portions of the card sweating. Guess once I get a 4870x2 or 4850x2 I'll play around a bit and test myself.

Hahaha, lovely song ... I know about it, 'cause my aunt has been leaving in Melbourne for the last 35 years or so :yepp: Classic song ! :)
Yeah I know :D ... My aunt has told me that there are A LOT of Greeks there :p: Maybe someday I'll visit her, 24hour trip is my main obstacle :D ... Thank god she is visiting us every 2 years :) If not, I wouldn't even have met her
Thankyou for this George, ill get cracking on a fix for mine when i get a chance :)
Trouble is im using tek-9's which almost cover the PLX fully :(
Thank you guys....... :)
T_M I'm using the Tek-9s too......BUT the very first ones if you take a look at the pictures.....You mean that you use the new "slim" ones?.....
[XC] gomeler, the PLX chip reaches - degrees even -30*C cuz it's TOO close to both cores.....IF you take a good look at the pictures, I have place a temperature sensor (brown/orange) below the heating resistors and I measured the temp of the PLX chip on an input of the rampage extreme mobo.....OPT 1 if I remember well........BUT it doesn't shows - degrees , it shows "N/A" below 0*C, so I had to put another temp meter that goes down to -50*C full rage to measure it.......
You could ALSO find some nice SMALL Peltiers at 2 x 2 cm and place them opposite - the heating surface to the PLX chip....... ;)
just no words george :D
nice.. but how do you explain the low scores for stock hsf air cooled ? i'm getting the low bug on air.. maybe 100% fan speed too cool ?

eva - there are good cards and bad cards.
Whats your MemIO temps on that card (GPU-Z and Rivatuner can show you)?
