the 402 bios for p5e is a DAMNED BIOS !!!! I used the same config that I was using with 401 and it doesnt boot ! i changed many times the ratio of ram and fsb and nothing to do! my pc doesnt boot ! it has been not able to boot for 4 3 hours! i re connect every component of my hardware, cpu, vga,psu..and nothing...did the clear cmos 20 times...unplug the battery 30 times! .. nothing, my pc didnt boot... and after 3 hours it started... but still cant use my old configurations.... this is a damned bios!
I am gonna to try the new 405.... :shakes:
0405 bios ... hmm ... bugged voltages, 3 hang ups in a row in bios later in windows ( with some blue screens as bonus ), 0.5x multis, end of testing ...
yep, 0405 is bugged again :-(
What are you doing asus???
Voltage problems: starts at 2.6 default???
405 is bugged too....
voltage vcore start from 2.6v ....
if i try to change the dram voltage value, my bios freeze..
I had also 3 times a frozen screen when i was tiping some others values into bios... i have still the boot problem when i reboot and when I boot after new configuration bios... I have no words for to describe my disappoint... this motherboard cost a lot...and I still have problems while I boot ... my vote is 0!
also with 3.03, 4.01, 4.02 I get almost instantly memory errors with memtest86 in dos.
With bios 0107 no probs whatsoever.
Please Asus stop fooling around, we want a working bios.
ANyone else got these strange memory errors?
2 x corsair xms2dhx 1024 = 2048 memory sticks.
What CPU do you get errors with eyes.only?
guys, how to flash an older bios ? with asus update from windows I cant... could you teach me how to do that ? thanks....
Thats exactly what i was experiencing. As i said, 0107 is the only stable and not bugged with stupid memory errors for me so far. With this BIOS the board is fantastic. I think the approaching ASUS has done with 201 and following to the Maximus BIOS is going bad, very bad.
Uninstall the newest AsusUpdate and then download and install this one. Flash with stock clocks and all should be well.

For some reason the newer AsusUpdate refuses to flash back to older an older bios after the new releases for the P5E and Maximus...this version of AU works though!
Asus are being :banana::banana::banana:ing nob jockeys.... Can't get the :banana::banana::banana:ing 4:5 divider working is a joke.... I'm not new to this bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: though....I was waiting for a good AW9D-MAX bios for a year..lol.
Board has real potential but stop :banana::banana::banana:arseing around asus
Start flashing to any BIOS you want. When the BIOS is flashing, turn off the computer. The BIOS will get corrupted. Then, when you boot, the board will ask you to introduce the drivers CD in order to fix that BIOS, replacing it with the BIOS contained in the CD (0107). So you can now flash with AU to any BIOS you want, but I strongly recommend 0107
Flashing from within Windows? In AsusUpdate, go to the options and tick the "Downgrade Bios" box and click ok. Now update the bios from a file, search for the file and it should stop for a while, almost as though the app' crashed, just leave it and then it'll let you flash. Again, leave it alone to do its thing, after about 3-4mins it should be done. It may seem like it has crashed during the flashing process, but it hasn't!
DO NOT REBOOT IF YOU THINK IT'S CRASHED! FLASH IT AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL YOU GET A GOOD FLASH! Only once the flash has been verfied can you reboot safely!
perfect.. the "key" was to tick the option "Downgrade Bios" box... i flashed with 107 bios and When i rebooted, the system did shut down... it happens very often... so i musted swtich off from the power button... i begin to hate this motherboard...
thanks for help....
Do you know what Asus Crashfree BIOS 3 (don´t know if spelled correctly) does? When for any reason the BIOS gets corrupted, it restore any "P5E.ROM" it can find on the removable devices you have plugged into the board, it can be a floppy, a CD, a pendrive... in the drivers CD the contained one is the 0107, check it :yepp:. That was the only solution that works for me, manually corrupt the BIOS to force the backwards flash.
the only issue i have with 0402 is that every 4-5 reboots it doesnt post and i need to press reset to get it going. other that that its running OK
I haven't had any real issues yet, but I've only been running the board maybe 3 days. All I know is it is a LOT better than my P5W DH was in terms of stability and speed.
Y'all are getting me worried though. If I need to get another mobo, I need to do it quick while I can still exchange it.
This mobo friggin' rocks. ASUS just needs to pull there head outa there ass and fix this crap.
the mobo speaks loud for quality and potential but asus needs to resolve some serious bios issues.
