Hmmmm..have tried all that i can think of... i have flashed to two different bios f5g and f6a, and have even gone back to f3 bios. However just simply enabling the CPU HOST CLOCK CONTROL (without any adjustment to the freq), makes the machine reboot back to the bios default setting..so it means i can not overclock...is my board broke...or am i missing a trick..
Guys,
Good news. I tried flashing back to the F4a bios again on the DQ6T and this time the flash allowed me to adjust FSB and multi... Maybe they revised F4A after realizing the bugs??
Anyway. I am very happy to report that this is the best bios so far (for me personally) on the DQ6T-DDR3 variant. I am finally able to boot my sticks memtest stable at 1800mhz +

CAS 7, 1900 mhz 7-7-7-20
It took 2.19 volts to get there with active cooling.
I think these sticks have CAS 8 2000mhz with some tweaking:
Or maybe the old QFlash 2.02 was botched, which is why they updated to 2.05?
Wow overall from reading in this thread. It seems that Gigabyte has sure dropped the ball when it comes to their BIOS performance....sad...I love my P965 DQ6. Doesn't look like I will be updating it any time soon.

I'm encountering something really strange with my board here, when I change my CPU settings to manual in BIOS and start overclocking, the changes get reset after the next cold boot. Not all BIOS settings, just mem timings and CPU goes back to auto. I've not experienced any instability while running overclocked so I don't know why it's doing this. Anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm using F3 BIOS by the way.
My X38-DQ6 is going back to the etailer I bought it from. Nice 15% restock fingering, but worth it IMO.
Seeya Gigalol.
here is some info on the 600+ Mhz FSB benching on the X38-DQ6
I plan to test the same on X38T-DQ6 shortly
for me F3 bios is rock solid :) I will try to do some testing with F5/F6 based ones as well to test my requests :)

how is this board coming along, i might get one again, formula wouldnt let me clock past 3.7 and had issues with my memory.....i hope the new bios's have fixed some things.

Basically, don't flash to F6b as overclocking with that BIOS is impossible. I flashed back to F5F and was able to boot to 420 FSB without any issues. F6e wouldn't let me go past the stock 333 FSB speed.
Looks like F5h is crap as well. Can't seem to OC very well with 4 DIMMs in this board.
I bought at NCIX. I was surprised they let me return it. I set up a refund RMA and decided to keep it and wait for a good BIOS that never came. Missed my 15 day return window. I re-emailed them and asked if I could still return it. The agreed too the return with a 15% restock fee that I gladly accepted :p:
Now just have to figure out what to get now. I dont really want to wait for the DFI X38, so I might get the P35 T2R. I would love to get the Transpiper free "LT" edition but I cannot find any in Canada.
Still thinking on it.
My first x38-dq6 did the constant on/off thing and resetting the bios or changing the battery did'nt fix it, so I rma'd it.
I just got my replacement from newegg and It boots, but the bios hangs after the initial bootup screen. The classic never ending blinking cursor. I don't think I'm going to buy anything from gigacrap again. This is ridiculous.

The estimated release is the 28th if I remember correctly. Problem is I dont think I want much to do with X38. Looks like it is not worth it for DDR2 users and I refuse to spend the money they want for DDR3 with DDR2 prices the way they are. I also need to run 4GB, so that puts DDR3 even further away.
I also doubt that by thr time I need PCI-E 2.0 it will either already have another rev, or I will have a completely different system. That with terrible BIOS support across the board and DFI's ability to miss targets P35 sounds pretty good to me.
Where I really went wrong was I had a Evga 680i that actually worked and could run my Q6600 at 4ghz prime stable and I sold it to get the Gigalol X38. What a mistake...
Yesterday I flashed the bios with F6b version , and i was able to boot to 3.6 ( 450 X 8 ) , and i try now to OC the memory to 1200 :)Quote:

I honestly don't know. F4 and anything past F5F doesn't let me do squat with this board. I just get the three reboots back to default settings. The P35-DS3R treated me a lot better.
You mean the failed overclock recovery thing. :ROTF: Did you try and adjust settings:)Quote:
did the constant on/off thing
This mobo has one of the best failed oc recovery routines i've seen. Yes it can spit out it's dummy at times, particularly if you don't get the memory sub timings right but it works for me. Only thing i'm a bit dissapointed in is max fsb, but having said rthat it's pretty well in line with what i've seen on the Asus max.
Does anyone else have problems accessing www.station-drivers.com
??....i can't seem to get the page to load, any new bios out yet?
[QUOTE=Supershanks;2544033]You mean the failed overclock recovery thing. :ROTF: Did you try and adjust settings:)
It worked great the first day and ran like a champ, but the next day I hit the power button and on... off... on... off... But instead of resetting to defaults and booting up after a couple of those, it never stopped until I turned off the psu.
Taking out the battery and resetting the cmos did nothing.... it just wouldn't post. Just on and off until power was cut. Now the one I got back from rma is hanging with a blinking cursor in the top left corner after initial post and I can't get into the bios or flash it, so it's going back too. Not too impressed so far with Gigabyte and I have been oc'n for 10+ years.
Guys, for anyone interested....Creative has released new (non WHQL) drivers dated October 25th 2007; www.soundblaster.com ; www.guru3d.com
Phatty....i had the same issue when i installed my new mobo, it came with F3 and i flashed to F5g...had the same issue. I took out the CMOS battery and waited a minute.
After that i had no issues and have flashed a few times since.
