As said some pages before, it remembers me of the ACPI tweak from Mr. Rocha and Ricky. But again, that was for 3d only.

By now, I think we had enough flaming, and now we should wait until someone of the XS community to get an explanation from them.

Coolaler is somehow new to me... OPB has been kicking asses and breaking records since those good old times when no one could take over OPP on his 3dmark scores...

We still have to wait their response. And KEEP respecting them, until anything is proof.

You can see clearly on the 12.734, the last loop is as clear as the others , darks pix are at the same place than previous loops.

On the 8.9 the last loop is so different than the others.

Well said Pal. I certainly wouldn't tell EVERYONE about a new tweak or a new way of doing something, straight away. Nah... not for a few months. And if I read this thread... well never!

Its like a hidden recipe... How the hell do Coca Cola make the flavor such that "You can't beat the feeling". Well just like Ferrari and Renault (in an example previous), no one has to share.

But I can understand perfectly the analytical side to it.

Seems like if you're not scamming and faking your own death, someone else is cheating at the benches... or just gone plain mad like Tapakah. :rolleyes: Curious times.

If I had a tweak, I'd share it with my close friends/team members and if it came down to it I'd drop hints to the general public to get them on the right path to find the tweak themself, but full on disclosure is a big ask. I fully believe that putting the work in yourself and earning the better scores rather than being handed them on a plate is what it's all about.:cool:

As far as scamming and what not, well it's the nature of the net... The anonymity damn near encourages people to take liberties they wouldn't dare try on in real life or face to face.

I dunno, I think we're getting to the point where we need some kind of official independant adjudicator for these matters, not self appointed Lords of the OC'ing world... Clearly self regulation just isn't working.

The problem with this idea that you do not have to share your tweak with your peer group is that unless you do then the peer group cannot decide whether it is acceptable or not.

Here you have a tweak that cannot be judged, so it obviously has that failing and so at the end of the day it loses it's validity.

When suspicion is raised, and the "supects" refuses to make any statement what so ever, doesn't that add even more suspicion? Some of you are only trusting the integrity of opb and cool, and not seeing the facts. I know some renowned members are saying that opb should share his tweaks, but that isn't neccessary. The only thing he needs to do is give us video evidence.

I can understand that if they did not cheat, they might get offended by this thread, and therefore doesn't want to post at XS anymore. But they could've at least sent a PM to FUGGER or sth.

But, I read a few pages back what OPB had written over at the OCX forums... LoL, can't see how any of you can take him seriously after that (if those were in deed his words).

Yeah I understand what you mean.

The only solution I can think of would be to have a panel of knowledgeable, impartial and trustworthy guys that could review these secret tweaks or techniques, cast judgement on them and then keep the secret tweak to themselves afterwards. An official governing body in a sense.

It's a pipedream really, I can't see enough people ever agreeing to get an official body like that sorted out, plus the vast majority of the folks that do know enough about benching to cast that sort of judgement are also competing for records themselves so impartiality would always be in question.

It's an impossible situation for all sides.

We just ask them to show us a fully optimised bench at spi over 5GHz with a camera.

If OPB made 8.906s à 55xxMHz, he can do 9.xxs à 5000MHz.

And I don't think he is capable to do that...

I think the best option was what was proposed before - submit the tweaks to the HWBOT admins, and see what they think of the tweak, as obviously neither of our most honourable benchers feel that XS admins and mods are worthy enough :rolleyes:

Nono we don't need their tweaks. We would like to see him during a bench... To see if he is really far better than us or if his previous results were bugs, cheats or fakes as you want.

I wanna ask, for those of you in the know of the 'accelerator', how many methods are there? 2, 3, more? Is it capable of manipulation to any degree, to even accurate flawless scores, or will there always be abnormalities?

Most on SPi now, said to work with 3D Mark. How about in that? Will results be abnormal as well from the fps, or is it capable of manipulation to legitimate degree? What will happen when one actually run 3D Mark? The FPS counter shows big numbers but 3d mark runs real slow?

In short, can this 'acelerators' be used flawlessly or will there always be abnormalities?

All I can say is that software that changes the speed at which the Windows clock run has no effect on both Superpi aswell as 3DMark. Superpi has it's own internal clock and all 3Dmark versions have one too, or some other thing that prevents this way of cheating. Cheating by changing the windows clock has been known for a long time, that's why Superpi mod has it's own timer and 3Dmark has protection too. Maybe there is a new way to manipulate the internal clock though, I don't know. If you can manipulate the internal clock it is possible to "speed up" Superpi in steps as small as 0.001%.

I haven't put much time in finding ways to cheat in Superpi, but there must be many ways......For example I think I decompiled the original Superpi once (can't remember for sure). Don't know if the new Mod-version has better protection against this :confused:

There are various speed hacks that will work universally it seems....each has a different method with speedup accuracy....

Is it possible to get the exact score you want? If it doesn't have a setting for an exact speedup ratio you want, you can just set the ratio higher and downclock or unoptimize.

This applies to 3D as well, but in 3D fortunately, most of the scaling comes from GPU power, not CPU....so faking a 6GHz CPU over a 5GHz CPU, will get you an extra 20% in score with the speed hack, we all know that unless GPUs are clocked up, as well as FSB and RAM, that 20% would not nearly happen in real life.

If you're smart about it, I could see these accelerators being used flawlessly, but in 3D, that will be difficult. In SuperPi, it doesn't seem to be that hard.

aye but 06 is so cpu bound in SLI, you just need watercooled gpus and prolly a 5.2GHz QX6700, you'll have insane GT1/2 scores to make up. Not greedy i just want 5.1GHz Kentsfield :D
