Just an update, the OCZ Gold 2GB 8800 OCZ2G11002GK (http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820227159) is now at 189,99.
Is it severely underpriced? I mean..it's DDR2 1100!!!

Running the exact same settings, 9x400, 4:5 div, memory at 500, 5-5-5-12 with only 2.1v. Didn't try to get any more out of them. Will see how high they go this weekend.
4X4N,
I'm glad your RMA replacment for the Anniversary kit is stable at your old settings! I remember when Mushkin told me they didn't have any XP4000 UTT kits left for RMA's so they had to give me another TCCD kit (I was totally bummed because I didn't want a crappy PC-3200 3-4-4-8 TCCD replacing my 2-2-2-5 @ 268Mhz kit)! Fortuenlty I was able to talk to Customer Service there and they game me their 2GB XP4000 Infinion CE-6 kit! I suppose they might not be as good as the Anni's but the'll still be pretty decent!
Update: As some may have read I recenlty sold my old Crucial Ballistix (PC2-8000) and got a 2GB kit of GSkill F2-8000PHU2-2GBHZ as an upgrade. Well I wasn't very happy overall and fortunelty was able to return to newegg for full-refund. With that said I was again on the hunt for some decent memory to replace the GSkills, fortunelty I was able to get a 2GB kit of CellShock PC2-8000 (CAS5) from Tankguys which just got delivered about 30min ago, YEAH! I havn't even taken them out of the package yet but I'll post back later with some intial results and I'll also verify what IC's their using.
Be careful with that ocz rebate though. You need to have the rebate postmarked within 10 days, weekends included.
I recently sold my Ballistix (PC2-8000) modules to get a 2GB kit of GSkills (F2-8000PHU2-2GBHZ) because I thought they would offer more potential. Well after about a week of testing I realized I definetly should have kept my Ballistix (as many people told me)! Well fortunetly I was able to return for full-refund and in the meantime I got a 2GB kit of CellShock PC2-8000 (Cas5) which got delivered on Friday!
After only a few hours of testing I was very impressed to say the least! Unlike the GSkill kit this new kit ran at Cas3 with no problems, even at stock voltage (3-3-3-8 2T @ 800Mhz on 2.2v). They also ran at 1000Mhz 4-4-4-12 at 2.25v no problem. Although these are not extreme numbers they are numbers that the GSkills just weren't able to do! Plus the Ballistix needed more voltage at Cas3 than these did so my initial impression is great!
I'm about to start a complete reformat and clean install of Windows but I wanted to give my impression and post a few pictures of the moduels first, ENJOY!

Life was fair with you this time , you got your money back and ordered GKX from ben , how bad was the G.SKill?
I've only had the RAM since last Thursday but so far it's been great! I ran it completely stock for a few days and tested stability with Memtest, Orthos, and lots of SuperPI runs and it performed perfectly on only 2.1v! Granted they were about $70 more than what I paid for the GSkills but I think it was totally worth it in the end.
Granted I only had the GSKills for about a week before I shipped them back to newegg but during that week I did alot of testing. Before I sold my Ballistix I did a bunch of testing and wrote down all the results so I'd have something to compare my new memory to. Basically I tested at CAS3, CAS4, and CAS5 with all the sub-timings left stock.
Although the GSkills did run stable at stock speed and timings I had many issues when overclocking at anything above 1040Mhz at 4-4-4-5, even when pushing 2.45v! Infact I needed more voltage than the Ballistix did at similar speeds and timings, heck the Ballistix ram much faster then the GSkills did even at 4-4-4-5 2T and 2.45v! I was SuperPI 32M stable on the Ballistix up to 1155Mhz but the GSkills couldn't get through SuperPI's 32M test at anything above 1040Mhz (as posted above).
Cas3 was a similar story, the GSkills were very unstable at Cas3 at anything above 800Mhz even at 2T and 2.45v! My Ballistix were SuperPI 32M at 3-3-3-8 2T 800Mhz on only 2.2v. I should add that the GSKills had much tighter sub-timings than both the Ballistix and my new CellShocks! At the moment I havn't tested enough with the CellShocks to have an initial impression but I'm very hopeful, especially at CAS3 where they run very stable at 800Mhz 3-3-3-8 2T on only 2.25v! I will post back soon with my testing results on my eVGA 680i.
I also wanted to let you guys know that eVGA is offering free cross-shipped replacment 680i boards which have been modified to work much better with the C2Q Kentsfield processors. As many know the eVGA 680i has a very difficult time overclocking the FSB at anything above about 1400Mhz which stinks. I guess they had been working on it for sometime now, well the boards are finally available and their already shipping out replacments to people who signed up (myself included)! They will also be sending these updated boards to retail channels in the near future so anyone can buy them.
I'm not sure exaclty what changes were made but some initial testing shows FSB speeds upwards of 450Mhz with C2Q chip installed which is a big improvment over 350Mhz! Well my replacment shipped out last Thursday and is scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday. I'll definelty post some pictures and initial results after I get it!
Hi all, I am new to here!
recently I have bought a pair of G Skill 800HZ but find out it is not very good on OC. So I decided to take the heatspreader off and found this:
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...y/IMG_9319.jpg
Unluckily, after doing this, I have dropped my memory on the floor accidentally and broke a gold finger, so now this pair of HZ is at Taiwan now..............(I am from Hong Kong). The dealer is very generous to lend me a geil 667 512MB stick to me, but as I am using vista, I just can't stand for the performance with only 512MB with all features disabled. The dealer told me have to wait at least a month to get my HZ back, so I decided to purchase a new set of 2G kit for my system. there are a few candidates in my mind:
Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC6400 SLI 2GB Kit (2x1GB) for US$210
Buffalo FireStix DDR2 2GB KIT,PC28000 PC2-8000 for US$280
OCZ EL DDR2 1100 PC2-8800 Gold 2GB Kit for US$265
OCZ DDR2 PC2-8000 Titanium Alpha VX2 2GB Kit US$350
To all bros, which one will you choose?
Is the firestix and OCZ titanium still D9GKX?
From the Ram list by Kemo, it only mentioned OCZ PC8000 platinum but not the gold series, does anyone know what chip inside?
crucial is the cheapest as it is DDR800 only, can reach the level of ther other 3 modules?
Thx all for answering my Qs!
OCZ EL DDR2 1100 PC2-8800 Gold 2GB Kit for US$265 (D9GMH)
Buffalo FireStix DDR2 2GB KIT,PC28000 PC2-8000 for US$280 (D9GKX)
Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC6400 SLI 2GB Kit (2x1GB) for US$210 (Maybe D9GMH but I'm not too sure).
OCZ DDR2 PC2-8000 Titanium Alpha VX2 2GB Kit US$350 (D9GKX) no need unless you really want to spend the cash. Also, what mobo will you be using?

So, I should go for Firestix PC8000, rite?
I probably would although the Crucial Ballistix PC2-8000 (non-Tracer) modules are pretty good! I still regret selling mine, probably the best DDR2 kit I've ever had! With that said the Firestix will most likely be GKX, at least they used to be?
Best damn RAM I ever tested out of all. Aside from the Tenth Anny.Quote:

The ballistic SLI = tracer , the Black one D9GMHQuote:

The OCZ PC7200 Gold i think they could be Elpedia if you want to make sure i might drop Andy a PM , after all my recommendation goes to the Crucial Ballistix
At the selling you never mentioned that they are the PC8000 , those are proper Bin GMH , Crucial highest bin , i though you were talking about the PC6400 or 5300 ,did i missed anythingQuote:
