680i overclocking thread

well i used several settings from auto to manual, and even do doesn't worked, i was using dry ice, to go as far as i could, but everything was frustrated because of that error, i don't know if it's incompatibility or just bad bios flash, or almost desde MB.

Alright this is one of those really stupid noob questions but I just don't know? I always thought that the chip closest to the CPU was the northbridge or MCP and that the chip closest to the bottom of the board was the southbridge or SPP? Well I was reading through the manual today to check what a specific BIOS settings was and read that they consider the chip closest to CPU to be the SPP and the chip below it the MCP? Which is correct guys?

The SPP (System Platform Processor) is the upper chipset closet to the memory slots as it contains the memory controllers.

The MCP (Media Communicatons Processor) is the lower chipset.
