I'd just like a bios that can reliably post up around 400. I was hoing the 0913 would do it, but not so far. I still have a few settings I haven't tried, but I'm getting tired of it.

yup.. for me also.. I think there are a little difference from 0830 and 0913 bios.. hope DFI is working with the bios much like Asus with there 975x boards.. mm.. even if its an Infinity.. :)
go go go DFI :rocker:
i have the Abit AWD max board on the way to replace my DFI. I never thought id replace a DFI board with an Abit, its kinda sad.
mm.. yup its really sad.. I know two person who have been active here in the DFI 975x post who have change their boards to gigabyte DS3 and Asus P5W DH Deluxe.. mm.. really sad.. :(
mm.. but I'm still waiting for the bios.. hope it will push through.. :)
Yeah if they could just allow booting at 400fsb on 4mb cache CPU's everyone would stop whinging.
Hopefully this new bios is magical. It seems that they are finnaly listening to the users.

I'm actually fine with 366, I just want the cold boot issue to go away and I'll be happy.Quote:

Now that I am seriously considering switching mobos, I have a question: Is the only advantage of a 975 over a 965 board support for sli/crossfire? If so, the DS3 at $147 seems like a deal all things considered. Now I just need to figure out if I want to pay the difference in selling this and buying that to gain 40mhz or so on the fsb (3.6ghz vs 3.24ghz is around 10% faster)
975x is also faster clock for clock than the 965 boards.
If you wanted to hold on to the Infinity I can see it getting better even if progress is slow (Cmon DFI give me 1333 strap)
If you are looking for pure OCability the DS3 is very good value.
yup.. DS3 is a good board for higher OC.. :D but I think I'm going to hold on for this Infinity board till the DFI Lanparty ATI R600 arrives.. :) Tony said that its really good.. :D but please DFI people don't stop working on this bios.. :)
but don't forget every board have a weakness :D at least I know mine already..hehehe ;)
Considering you're at 443fsb already, I don't doubt you like your board. I can't get over 365 (or haven't figured out the right combination of settings). Obviously 365 v 266 is quite an increase, but I really built this system to push 400fsb on air.
DFI: Please keep at it!
913 is no longer a beta bios on the dfi site. I didn't have much luck with it tho, no more cold boots but warm boots & failing to post wrecked my head.
hey anybody getting under 40c cpu temps when idling cause for some reason i can't get mine under it, with smartguardian, core temp and speedfan min what they have ever shown is 40c >_<. i'm using zalman reserator 1v2.
its really to bad DFI couldn't rescue the 975X with a better BIOS on this one... disappoints me actually.

I was only getting under 40 idle at stock with C1E enabled (at 40C exact with it disabled). Anybody else saying otherwise on Air without proof is spouting BS (been a few here and DFI-street saying such) or living inside an airconditioner. I may live in FL but my ambients are well within reason.Quote:

hmm with a zalmann you should be able to get under 40 idle, but not at 3.5ghz maybe... let me check with my 3.5ghz e6300... p5b dlx though.
edit - yeah with 1.45v at 3.5ghz going below 40 doesnt look easy, im closer to 45.
I idle at 46-48' with my zalman & 1.47Vcore
yea maybe i was just expecting little bit too much from zalman and it's passive(and it really is silent) so 40c idle is not bad at all :)Quote:

i cant upload pics cuz this thing keeps telling me i've uploaded the max of 5 pics
yeah the whole temp thing was just that zalman couldn't get it any colder because now with table fan blowing 10c air from outside to cool down reserator i get 34-36c idle with cpu and 29-32 with vid card :)
[i just hit 360fsb with a mini guide i got on dfi streets
