I've just placed my order via phone for the E6600 at TD. They have already taken the money out of my account too

o yea and the guy told me that the only reason they put 7-10 days up on site is to be on the safe side but they will actually be in on Saturday

If your serious about getting your chip then Call them, dont wait for the availability on the site to change

I called ldlc.com today (my french provider) because availability for the product was still 5 to 30 days.
the rep told me that they should receive the processor (E6600 retail)next week and my order could be processed then, after a little talking she told me (i guess i have a nice voice :D ) that she had 31st july as a day for the product to be in stock...

I dunno should I try calling TD and seeing whether I can get the e6600 ordered and shipped early? I guess the OEM chip would be fine as long as it works and someone could reccomend a good cooler for my giga ds3 board in nzxt lexa case.

I guess I wouldn't mind paying the lil extra bit for just OEM as long as I get the chip early next week...and than can get a nicer cooler aftermarket and such. What cooler is reasonably priced and easy to setup for LGA775? This is my first build.

Dittos. Aug 7th is a tad over 1 week away.

There's no way I'd pay TD $360 + Freight for an OEM E6600 when there are suppliers offering Retail E6600's w/warranty, HSF and free freight for $339.

It's just plain foolish IMHO.

Yes, I will do the right thing, but it will be painful.

I'm going to track my package tomorrow and if it's at the Durham hub I'm going to pick it up. I had them open a shipping container once to get a package early. They WERE going to sit on it for two days before delivery but I relieved them of the burden. :)

UPS just stopped with TigerDirect order of C2D. Seems to be an ok deal and shipping was fast enough. Paid about 40$ to get it a week early not a biggie, when things are all relative.

same here, i paid $40 to get it today too. Since i saved on Tax it felt good. Maybe i just won't take my GF out to dinner one night this week and save $40. LOL:D
