dont kill thi smobo yet man this a killer board. like i said im @ 400 with default mch ich and front side bus pci-e is @ 100 pci is @ 33.3 and pci-e voltage is at auto also. vcore is 1.3 though as i wanted to rule out any issues of the cpu puking out.

the board has the option to drop down to ... uhmmm... 667 ram but i dont think it does 533 which would allow me to go way more on the fsb.

dont walk away from the bord cuz of that.
if you go to tankguys.com and buy the teamgroup ddr667 its 187 bucks and it will hit 1000+ mhz on 2.2-2.4v that ram is perfect for this board.
im ordering some tommorrow i think.

I bought the g-skill f2-6400-phu2-2gbhz 0606 stuff. There was ram for less but with mail in rebates, which I never end up turning in to bother waiting 6 months for them, so I just spent an extra 35 bucks and got the good stuff.

Same memory I picked up. Still deciding on the DS3 though. Its probably my only choice atm becuase I have a 7950gx2 waiting for this new board and proc and that card is pretty much only confirmed to work on this board and none of the other 965 boards.

I'm hoping its compatible with the ds3.

my g.skill is rated for 1.8v-2.0v would going high on the volts help the overclock for it?

auto everything vcore @ 1.35 cpu-z shows 1.328 droop under load is about 0.025 which is cool

pretty funny how cpu-z readsd the voltages for this board but cant read the voltages for the big pile of sh|t p5w dh ...

i dont think it can do over 400fsb for E6600 or above chips, but easily 450, 480+fsb for 6300, 6400 ES5

i think its all about the ram

the conroes demand very overclockable ram to be able to overclock them very far.

if your theory on 400mhz was true then my P5W DH hates the 6600 and higher chips also since this is exactly the same spot my P5W DH hit the wall also.

the 400 +/- i think is a farce from a bad chip or two or goofy ram.

how are you liking the board otherwise?

then change RAM and prove to me im wrong . I am eager to see someone hit 400fsb on DS3. I doubt u can do it even with better RAM. A 20Mhz OCing on ur RAM is nothing. Cuz i been to soo many sites, German, Chinese, French ... no one manage to do that (boot E6600 or above at 400+fsb on DS3)

also yeah u have to be hell of a good OCer + ideal platform in order to do that (what moisterous did)

PS: everything, teh 400+fsb i was talking about. They have to be done on tower 120, no wc/TEC/phase, With those its a different story

I'd be curious to compare this to an E6400 at 8x... can it go at a higher fsb then the E6600 at 8x because of less cache? I know someone said they got one to 480, but I'd like to see confirmation.

they already done 7x500 on E6300 and 480x8 on E6400 with DS3
