Enjoy :)
Sweet !! Thanks a lot man. CHeck your email :) You have a gift
Looks sweet as always Martin. I'm dying to see the outcome you pull with my color combo... :-)
I just got my sleeving in from Martin , looks great , perfect sleeving, and top notch ! . Ill be sending you more work for sure man, once again thank you. Ill see if i can post up pics later on tonight or tomorrow.
Looking extremely nice Martin  Looking at those pics makes me wanna sleeve my own power supply :D Maybei i'll just stick with NZXT sleeved extensions.
I'm sure you'll be very happy with it 3dchipset :)
Aedubber: Glad you like it! Looking forward to the pics! :D
puunaki: Thank you! :)

absolutely sick!!! skills...
hi........What number you are using the electrical Wire? (For sleeve small)
Usually it's the typical 18 awg wire.
Sorry if this has been asked before, but if I'm making an extension for my Corsair 750HX; wouldn't I run the wires from ports 1 to 1, 2 to 2 on the new connectors? No cris-crossing at all?
Thanks,
Hi, sorry if this has being posted before, but how do you sleeve SATA power cables that terminate like this?
http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s...100613_001.jpg
Get a small flat blade screwdriver... almost small enough for working on eye glasses. Put the connector down on the desk like that, and use the screwdriver to pop up the black tabs holding the pins in. The hinge of the tab is at the back of the connector, and the front of the tab is towards the front where you can see the metal of the pins poking through.
Yo guys.
I'm going to try some different sleeve, using this silk cord.
until my thermo shrink arrives, I'll get the ideas of the business.
Can someone post pics of the 24p/8p near the origin? I mean, entering the PSU.....
and tell me about the diameter on the MDPC sleeves....
the cord.... I stumbled upon this while looking for pure white ones.... And liked the color scheme....
looks thick, but it's just 2.6mm thick, with a removable filling string......

Hey Crys1s_Gam3r, could you do me a favor next time you're sleeving something? Could you take a picture of the sleeving end in relation to the pin, and also where the heatshrink is in relation to the pin before shrinking? How long are the pieces of heatshrink you use?
I tried to get it uniform like that when I did mine, but it never worked out, and I could never figure out where to put the sleeving in relation to the end of the pin and where to put the heatshrink.
Wow the red and white sleeving its just stunning... i think i'm going to buy some hehe!! Excelent job Crys1s_Gam3r!!!!
I haven't read anything here or anywhere else and bought the :banana::banana::banana:ty sleeving from performance-pcs, that ends up being paracord with the interior removed, something I already had here about 100 feet. Kinda pissed off, but it was very cheap. The bad thnig about paracord is it doesn't expand so sometimes it's a pain in the ass to pass through some connectors. it looks good but it doesn't stick to the heatshrink, does anyone know how to shrink it some way the cord doesn't slip off?
Not quite sure what you mean, but I usually put a drop of Loctite Gel at the terminals that I shrink.
there are some shrinks that use an internal glue, something called "hotmelt"
I dont know if ALL shrinks have that,....
Most don't have that ;) (even more expensive)
And I hate it... It is good to keep things together but hard to remove...
You can get the glue lined shrink at McMaster-Carr.
Glued is yuck, because it "flows" out of the open ends and you see it. Looks cheap. Also you can't use the most advanced fine-tune positioning techniques (to achieve results like Crysis shows) with glued shrink. And it doesn't give you the opportunity to replace shrinks without shortening the sleeve where it was glued onto. Therefore: Not recommended for the perfectionists out there.
NFC :)
It means: You usually cut shrinks to the same length as a foundation for perfection. Then you shrink them "not fully", because you can then adjust the position "just before" you could not move it anymore. Once aligned perfectly to its neighbor, you fully shrink it :) With glue, you would not be able to work like this, because it would get sticky "in-between". I hope this explanation makes sense. Actually Janik (Xien16 on this page) showed and explained this technique for the first time (at least to me) - he's a champ as fhantastic and Crysisgamer are :)
Oh ... something beautiful which hasn't existed before :)

http://www.abload.de/img/mdpc-purple-02rqwb.jpg
Color is absolutely accurate on a normally-calibrated monitor and represents what eyes see in reality :) Tough job for most cams^^
That's beautiful. Working on getting an order in now!
Edit: Quick question. I am going to be sleeving a Corsair TX750. I measured each wire to be about 2 feet, and there are about 80 wires. Sleeving each one, I would need about 160 feet, so I would have to buy 60 meters (196 feet) to have some space messing up and to sleeve some fans, right?
How much heat shrink should I buy. Would 2 meters be enough or should I buy more?
LogAn'sRun: I use white wire... tape works but it's a pain to get on. You won't want to put the white sleeve on black/colored wire - while the weave will completely close, it will appear "tinted."
Thanks PropherCR :) Get some! You won't regret it :)
MINIz guy: 60 meters sounds about right. For heatshrink, generally you'll want around 1 meter for every 10 meters of sleeve. You can never have enough :D

Edit: An hour after ordering, it has shipped! Nils is awesome. :D
I NEED THAT COLOR.:shocked: WHERE BUY!?!?!
I am about to get balls deep into sleeving properly . .. what size for sata data? diameter . . .

Crys1s_Gam3r- Do you have some pics of orange and black sleeve, I cant decide which to pick green-black or orange- black combination :D
Sorry for my bad english.
Crys1s_Gam3r I'm going to fall in love with your work! My future colour scheme was going to be Grey/Green on a Aluminium Grey case and you have confirmed how well it looks...amazing...I'm totally sure now to get Grey/Green with my DFI UT T3he8.
Xien16 that colour fits perfectly with your worklog in Pink! I'm going to think that you asked DualBrain to make it for you
I'm really sure that Fhantastic did orange/black and I'm going to search the photo on his Worklog on the Lian Li "Black Hole"
EDIT: I found it.
This is not mine, it's from Fhantastic

Xien16: I have my own source for the same sleeving and in hundreds of colors but I need to know the diameter for doing sata cables.
When my girlfriend was looking over my shoulder last night, she saw me scroll past that purple sleeve. She then yelled out, "When my laptop dies, I want you to build me a desktop and sleeve it purple and white!"
She's a winner. She put up with me sleeving my Silverstone for 12+ hours, and she will do it again after I'm done with the mods.
Go and build it for her - no matter if the notebook is still alive :D:D:D

If my motherboard wasn't black and blue and if I hadn't already decided on white with blue accent for sleeving, I would have gone with that purple, white and black myself. It looks awesome! :)
I would but I can't afford it. I can barely afford the watercooling for my own rig. Maybe a sponsor? ;)
@kwscore - HOW did you do that? :O :O :O
I've allways wanted to sleeve the keyboard usb cable and mouse cable. HOW? :O
Your result looks quite stunning!
Yes yes, it was a stupid question, but I had JUST been there the night before you posted in a frantic search for high quality purple sleeving.
Anyways, I loaded up and bought the MDPC de-pinning tool. I'm skeptical about how it stacks up to this awesome one I have been using but after seeing the crimper comparison I thought I would give it a shot.
I'm sure it's amazing, but I got pretty good with using staples because I find it hard to justify 20euro for it...
@Crysis_gamer - thanks for that reply. I've been thinking next time around I should just change the wire colors themselves, but how do you keep track of all the different wires if they are all the same color? Also, are you building extensions for people, or are they the sleeving straight from the PSU?
I've always wondered about extensions as it seems more practical without needing to mod the PSU, but then what do you do with the massive cabling from the PSU, like where do you hide that? It seems the most efficient way is to mod directly the PSU, but then that raises another issue - if you custom length the PSU, what do you do later when you switch cases ? Get a new PSU? Or just do it all over again?
Not all the mouse, keyboard are in the middle small connector ;)
sometimes need to unsolder wires directly to the plate Here begins the stairs because not everyone wants to do it:eek:
@The Viking spin the mouse, keyboard and see if the ends are plug-ins if you have a plug that can be easily dismantled to facilitate sleeve;)

It was just raining, so I thought I could combine "purple-brain" with some lesson about color and perception. Comparing it with red, makes it better to understand :)
If the monitor is calibrated somehow "ok", then you will see a strong difference to a pure red.

:eek:Nice
We need some purple heatshrink for that beautiful purple sleeving
purple sleeving this should become standard not special :D i love it :D

I finally found out how to achieve a better representation for a normal room-light situation ... and not the full-power-photo-light situation which is a little bit uncommon :D :)
Then it's like this:
http://s5.directupload.net/images/100620/qztwkgk9.jpg
nice :)
Only dimmed the brightness a little bit and it transformed from studio-light-overkill-light-situation to normal :D
Excellent guide, I totally screwed up my first psu lol, after applying the heatshrink i couldnt put the cables back in.. grrrr
Im on the verge of ordering a sleeving kit from MDPC (going for a red, black, with a hint of grey theme) to match the ASUS IV Formula.
Cant wait to have a crack at sleeving, hope it goes well as i only settle for perfection. fingers crossed.
Janik: Really nice pics! The purple is growing on me :D

I only ordered purple sleeving. Nils went ahead and sent me some white, black and yellow samples! I can't wait to get this stuff on my TX750. Only downside is that I'm going away for a week so I can't progress further on my build. :(
DualBrain żIs it possible to show us a colour scheme between Purple and Aquamarine Blue together? I'm thinking about mixing those colours but I'm not really sure about how they look together and it's difficult to me to imagine it having them on different photos.
Maybe it doesn't match so well but I want to Know if Blue will match perfectly with purple without being weird. If not maybe some of you can recommend me wich colour can I mix with it to make a good colour scheme with this motherboard:
http://www.pccomponentes.com/fotos/p...socket_am3.jpg
This is going to be my first try with Mdpc-X Sleeving ^^
I would do mostly black with an accent color of that aquamarine blue.
That "purple" looks really red on my monitor... The previous poster, Xien looks more purple then the one posted above! :-p
ditto, I think the WB is way off...
No, the most recent pictures are really red. It's not your monitor, it's the guy's lighting.
Can we safely assume it's not purple but more "violet"? Purple is far more purple. lol... Hard to explain.
It depends. As you can see, the color of the sleeve is greatly influenced by lighting and white balance. I would trust Nils', Janik's (Xien), and Paul's photographs of the purple sleeve as they are excellent photographers, so I believe the color is most accurately represented in their photographs. If you take a look on the previous page, the sleeve is a more purple color under normal light, but appears more magenta to berry colored under studio lighting.
Maybe "Magenta" or "Berry" would fit a little better, but I think Purple is fine. :)
If you don't trust the shots on MDPC-X
-> buy it and see that they are correct
-> buy it, see that your screen is calibrated wrong and see that they are correct
Or just trust this rose :D
http://img14.abload.de/img/gartens26vfme.jpg
Just believe the photos I shot and present. What I do is what you see in reality with your eyes. I know how important it is, therefore I worked hard on it. Only a drastically wrong-calibrated monitor might show something extremely different than reality shows. But I tested it on a hardware-calibrated (in my design-agency) monitor, on 5 different office-monitors and also on a cheap TV. All showed what you see in reality. With my photos of course.
A camera "wants" to see red, so almost nobody will be able to photograph, except if he really experiments a lot. You will think that your cam is garbage, even if you have a 5.000 $ camera :)
Reality = my pictures.
Guillaume: Purple+GrandBleu is the absolute killer. It's beauty at it's best. Of course Black+Purple is godlike, but that's to be expected when a color is developed :D
I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm saying their is a distinct difference between violet and purple. Xien16, I got some of the purple sleeving from Nils. To me purple is purple. :-p
For example. Check this photo out below:
http://www.fashionchat.info/images/C...ALE-Violet.jpg
The top right is purple. The top left is violet.
Even the wire from Performance PC's. This is what purple looks to me.
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...Wire_t_LRG.jpg
The sleeve is awesome, I know I just ordered 30 meters of it. I'm saying with the naked eye it looks more violet then straight up purple. :-p
It'S easy :D
There is an institution which defines colors: It's RAL.
If you check out an official RAL-chart and match it with the color of my photo, you will see a magic word in the name for this tone: "Purple".
http://www.ralcolor.com/
What people often confuse is that they actually mean "Lilac" or "violet", but that'S normal for people who don't work with color every day :)
I can't say more than "I know exactly what I do" :)
I'm not playing with words, I only use facts.
We had exacly this discussion some posts ago...
For me nearly all mixtures of blue and red (with more red) are pink :D - so where is the problem...
And Nils - your orange isn't orange at all!!! This and nothing else is 100% orange: http://www.harvestwizard.com/bloodoranges1r.jpg :D:D:D
So if these are your biggest problems at the moment you are really happy guys ;) (expect for Nils - it is one of his biggest problems at the moment :wierd:)
lol Janik, it was in another forum :D
But I guess it needs to happen everywhere. But it's good that there is the RAL definition for colors, because there is no room for interpretation :)
Are you saying your sleeving matches RAL 4006?
Your photos are amazing--unbelievable is a more appropriate term--and I purchased a decent length of your purple sleeving.
One thing that gets me though is the pretentiousness of art directors and teachers in demanding that their students define pink as some abstract mixture of primary colors or using terms like pale, moderate blue. Congratulations on being technically correct but everyone knows what hot pink or aquamarine looks like so why not just use that?
And your rose is confusing, and I am guessing that is your point--but when someone is confused about the color of your sleeving it's not very nice to make a comparison to red then post a picture (gorgeous, btw) of a purple rose. I am sure roses can be purple, orange, or zebra striped but it is hard to argue that a rose is not synonymous with RED. Should I calibrate my monitor so your purple rose looks red? What exactly is your point?
Sorry to get heated up about this--I greatly respect the work of everyone affiliated with MDPC-X and I spend many hours in awe at your gorgeous photos. I also understand the rebound from people misplacing the wrong color definition to your product and correcting you. It just frustrates me that you can't say the color is close to:
a200a0
C45 M98 Y0 K0
162 ,0, 160
RAL4006
cc00cc
I didn't show a rose? :D I am innocent!
NFC: Nice that you found a match :) It meets what other people found out too. Combined with my promise of color-accuracy, I guess the case is solved. Of course there is room for even finer definitions, based on RAL Design, but based on RAL classic, you hit it well :)
I just like to see people discussing about facts. Therefore I don't go into watercooling etc. discussions, because I simply don't know facts. I only speak when I know something for sure :) Forums are a place of huge confusion, because of "guessing", "thinking" (sometimes intentional badmouthing) and of course photos with no care if they represent reality or not :)
Yes, you are innocent of public rose display. MULTIQUOTE FAIL on my part. :D
That would have been n00bish from me :D  Janik :D
BTW, what is a good technique for cutting heat shrink into perfectly even pieces? Even using surgical scissors mine come out at odd lengths.
WOW! Didn't think it would spark such chaos... Just speaking from my visual of holding the sleeve in my hand. I just go by what I interpret the color purple. It wasn't meant as a slam or personal jab. I like the color of the actual sleeve. Already have plans for what I want to use it for. :-)
This is what I've been experimenting...
Get a wooden cutting board. (pretty cheap, find them in the home cooking aisles. lol) and take a ruler and make 2 perfect lines. Then line up your heatshrink and make one cut with a sharp razor blade then line it up to the other line and make another cut. Keep doing that and you'll have pieces identical to each other. :-)
How do you guys get the heatshrink to be the same length? Measuring? Also, I am having trouble with the Sata Power Cables, how do I removed the little piece in the lower left in the picture?
http://dangals.skinneelabs.com/300.JPG
My pictures show it as more red than it actually is. Part of that is WB on my camera, the other part is halogen lighting making it a bit more red than it actually is.
I tried taking a picture of the purple sleeve and it comes up more red color than anything. I love the purple sleeve though (already got a color combination I'm going with). I still have problems stretching it. I just can't seem to stretch it like Crysis.
