Hi everyone, I'm new here but been reading here for awhile. Finally got a opty 165 ccbbe 0617 fpmw. Just wondering if anyone been able to take this baby to 3ghz on air? I'm on a Big Typhoon w/ a 110cfm Silverstone fan. I primed it 11hours last nite at 1.44@2.924ghz. Haven't been able to get 3ghz prime stable and if you have what are you mobo volts if on a expert board. Nice oc likewhoa!

I hit 3Ghz with 1.57v and i'm sure you can on air also, but watch your pwmic temps, and keep cpu at <50CQuote:

I have been away for a few and I can't believe how much AMD Opterons have improved in stepping and performance overhead! 3200Mhz is simply outstanding!
I remember people posting that AMD cores didn't have anything left beyond 3Ghz a few months back when the duo's made there introductions. Now look.... 3200mhz :slobber: That must be stepping into core 2 territory no?
Anyways, nice to see these numbers! - I might invest in just one more chip if the stepping proves consistent :)

Vcore is still very low comparing to the others so this give me hope to reach 3200MHZ stable and 3300 perhaps Benchable.
Image what this CPU can do on SubZero system.(if its free of Cold BUG);)

hey ive had a 148 for awhile, and ive been having probems getting it to clock well, as it sits in my sig( 264X11 1.475 volts) im really stable. if i drop to a 10 or 9x multy i can hit 290fsb on this mobo( i think thats all it has to give, tops out at 300, it was cheap)
currently i am hitting a mear 40*c at prime load for a hours, BUT if i bump my FSB up even 2 mhz, i cant prime for more the 5mintues....
im content with this chip doing 2.9 stable and under 1.5volts, but id really love to see something over 3 (i know im maxed by 290X11 cause of mobo) but id be happy with 272X11,and im cool wiht upping the volts as well, just not sure if itll help much.
ive got my HTT withen stable settings for this board and my ram is aslo stable up to 240 mhz, runing a 166 div to keep me under....
can anyone give me some pointers? feel free to PM me help as to not clutter this thread of holy optys :P much thanks for anyhelp!
i love seeing what these 165 etc.. can do under water and phase, those are jsut plain out killer clooks!!!

My 146's htt is at 333, multi at 9. Could I in theory hit 3.3 ghz? My mems not that good, 2gb ocz 3200. Any tips on tweaking that?

I'm pretty sure my an8 ultra reports voltages slightly higher than they really are. This is 24/7 speed btw - I there's a brick wall at roughly ~2950 where more voltage just doesn't help.
I have exactly the same problem, I can't push fsb mhz higher than ~267 without failing prime within minutes. I'd really like to see something over ~3ghz but I don't think it's going to happen with reasonable aircooling volts. I think with a nice WC setup you could boost core volts up to ~1.65 and see some action with these chips.Quote:

yeah im running at 263*11 its prime stable for days :P
and im only at 1.5 bios, which reads 1.47ish in speadfan, so im getting aroun 37-40*c while priming.

*shrug* im thinking of getting water onto this bad boy, as im getting a lanparty board soon *woot* on i pulled the IHS off one day cause i was really board :P i saw a 5* drop while priming, of course this was when i had a :banana::banana::banana::banana:tttyyyyy heat sink, at 250*11 with 1.45 volts itd hit 45*c!!!
im also going to be getting a athlon 3700+ so ill be able to compare the chips, should be fun!

yes it is cooled by zalman 9500 and now little update 3060mhz and over 1hour sp2004 stable :) and still priming, and im sametime typing this post !

Does 2x512MB ram sticks and 2x1GB ram sticks have somewhat the same stressing effect on the memory controller? Or does 2x1GB runs alot heavier?
In what way will this affect an overclock ?
As for myself, I have 4x512MB and this is just :mad: , got 2x512MB out of my system and it runs alot better, overclocks better for the cpu and the ram. Though this is nothing new, my question is, is it smart to sell this 4 sticks and get myself 2x1GB sticks ?
