any1 found out how to unlock it yet? :D
Wrong. AMD's microcode is updated, too. The difference is, that Intel publishes the microcode updates and You can get them separately, too (for example, You can update it on the fly on Linux). AMD's updates get into only the newer BIOS versions. With both CPUs, it's get uploaded to the CPU by the BIOS or a userspace program (but it's not permanent, You have to do it on every boot).Quote:

gah i hate life sometimes, well my mobo just ran into some problems, dead sound and a 8x max PCI-E link, grr. RMA here we come, but heres the Q My 3000+ isnt a very good OCer is there any way to RMA it to without being a bad person lol? anyone have any other ideas on the PCI-E speed problem B4 i just give in and put the comp to the floor for a couple weeks.
WTF...njkid32 it is most small price to get it here? If not, I think it will be better to send it slower, but now. Because if anybody help you with money for mailing, it will take time. And I think that you'll have time A (sending with fast mail but expensive + finding money for you) equal to time B (sending usual cheap way). Sorry for ugly description. :-)
Acrazar
Do you have correct SLI connector? Try to put if off, and back. It may help.
This is offtop BTW.

Do you know update sequence?
ALL
I'm available for a speak a lot of time in ICQ (86080981) if anybody need.
That was the slowest way. Its not cheap to mail to Hungry...Quote:

I don't know how much or if this will help at all, but, can anyone else do this?
I was fooling around in my BIOS, and I decided to check out the multiplyer setting.
I set it at thirteen, I was suprised I could do this.
Saved and rebooted and went back into the BIOS, it was still set at 13. :slobber:
I went into windows, and it's really @ 10 according to CPU-Z.

Now, I'm saving it as 20x, see top of pic.

And it boot's like regular, so obviously it's not 20x..but...
Oh yeah, and here's the BIOS version. It's DFI's latest official release to my knowledge.

We may be onto something here, because every other A64 owner I know can only go up to their max stock multi in their BIOS'. :stick:
That 's normal with SKT 754 DFI 250gb.
Changed in Bios but nothing happened. You can only get what the CPU will you give.
yeah the current_FID is still being compared to the MAX_FID and gets shot down and reset to max. your bios just doesnt register the max_fid
Ahh, okay. Sorry :slap: .
dont be, its obvervations like those that have gotten us this far
