Guys how come my TDP is showing as 35W?
site connect problem :stick: where download Tcasemax v1.19 ??
Question: Higher case temps = better overclocks right?
So if you take a stack of 3700+s and you go through and the avg is around 55 - 57, t hat is your average overclocker. If you have a 53 or a 51, then your OCs probably suck? And if you have a 59, 61 or even 63, then your OCs probably rock?
I still dont understand the 49 degree thing..
Does this mean we shouldn't go above the max case temp? 49 is pretty dman low especially for DC optys...
depends on what the thermal offset is as well. In my cpu adventures, i have found that i have ALWAYS had temps change = or better than the thermal offset, unless it's a negative number. The high clocking cpu's i had have had both a high max remp, as well as a large thermal offset. the ones with lower offsets worked @ lower frequncies in comparison, over about 40 Rev E 939 cpu's

Is this good? What does this stuff mean?
No one yet has explained the + (-) value of the AMD64 TCaseMax results..... I and others have asked this question numerous times without any reasonable reply.
Three cheers to the coder that wrote the app, but its value appears to be insignificant…
cpu is tested @ default speeds, the draw and the max temp reached under the test conditions are the maximum case temps and TDP. ALso there is a thermal offset which , to me, relates to the IHS. A positive number the bios adds to the reading(or doesn't depending on who wrote it), a negative it subtracts. All three go together.
Higher TDP means the cpu can handle such current, and so if you cool it better than thier testing methods, you can get higher clocks easier.
High TDP, with high thermal offset = Killer cpu.
Adding the "CABGE" stepping code, as well as the serial number, and you can almost pick a performer easily, by searching results on the internet.
Which field is the thermal offset?
use CBiD for that. It's under the mobility tab.

95watts is good right?
max of this revision is supposed to be 110w...
with a max tcase of 49°C and only a 35W TDP I guess phase would do good in my situation? 170 0550 upmw.

This would mean this is an average OCer? I haven't messed with it much, I'm hoping to get at least 2900mhz with 1.6 volts when I tweak on the weekend.
This thing isn't prime or OCCT stable... quite disconcerting.

according to cbid, the temp offset is 15c. this chip is a great overclocker, a castrated toledo from the end of last summer. does 2.8ghz @ 1.38v with decent air. maxes out around 2930 @ 1.55v. when i first got this mainboard, it would do 3ghz +, but for some reason none of my cpu's oc as high on this board as they used to , all else being the same except for vid cards.
very truly yours,
politenessman

I`d say it`s VERY lowQuote:
