Nice XXMARTIN, how did you get that HS off?
ok, when Are you guys going to push these chips..
This is my 4200+ on Vapo LS and I have not even started tweaking :p:
Nice... is that 100% stable clock? :) I have feeling most x2 will stop around that clock for 4200+ with single phase around the voltage you are using... Still need to work on case and waiting for few things.Quote:

But with the dual core, time to put it on air and run some DC projects on it
to bad that it's far from stable with watercooling ...

however, 2.9g may be possible dual-primestable
What did you use to get the IHS off? Single razor blade, X-acto knife, ?Quote:

Little chance.......... :)Quote:

Got mine...but bad news. Its not prime stable (2X) at stock speed!
RMA time I guest .........
That sux, make sure your board isn;t undervolting it some guys boards are....Quote:

Also it could be your memory ;) Run memtest in windows and check your memory.
Should be receiving this retail part Wed from the Egg, ordered today shipped today excellent store indeed.
Also sitting here is a DFI UT NF4 Ultra-D and Wed will be receiving a XP-120 with a 114 CFM 120mm fan, case is a long server case (mainboard far from HDDs and many fans in there)
How well do you think I will be able to do on air with this? Incidentally I spent about 20-30 hrs this weekend (literally up all night and into the sunrise mornings) reading and trying to find a total answer for my FX-55 San Diego which I knew would clock to 2.8 ghz and give me the best gaming experience.
Finally after reading many results of the 4400+ achieving 2.4-2.6 ghz on air I was hopeful I could possibly match the FX-55 (stock) FPU performance for my XFX 7800 GTX Extreme Overclock card.
While I do love gaming BF2 which I bought 2x1GB (See 2x1GB/1x1GB OC Database) Crucial Ballistix (can't wait to test these suckers at full speed)
I still do some DVD to MPEG4 for PSP and I do work as a Senior Engineer for a networking company so my "multitasking" can sometimes be having several IE windows open with Outlook etc and naturally I run Corporate Antivirus in the background with MSN IM and some other items.
My final thing that "got me convinced" was the press release from Nvidia regarding multithreaded dual core CPU driver support giving 3-5% increase in gaming performance. I am hoping with the overclock of the 4400+ coupled with background tasks freeing up one CPU completely, and the nvidia dual core multithreaded optimization I can have the best of both worlds.
You can imagine how bummed out I will be if I can't at least get 2.4-2.5ghz completely stable after the cash I've laid out here and the XP-120 + fan + AS5 wasn't exactly cheap either.
Thoughts on my hopeful overclock of the 4400+? :toast:
I love my toys too !! :toast: now get some sleep ! lol
I am assuming you received the 4200+? Read my post a bit further up. Now you have me scared........... :eek:Quote:

Did you receive your X2? What cooling? What kind of OC did you get? :clap:Quote:

I tested my mem with memtest86, but not in Windows....but hightly doubt that my mem is the fault...It is doing 300 fsb @ 2.5-4-3-7 and now is running 200 fsb (same timmings)
Go here and download "memtest" it runs in windows and test your memory.Quote:

Memtest86 is not the same as running in windows, I've had memory that passed memtest86 without errors that fails right away in windows.
Also, are you using all the extra power connectors on the mb ? the molex connectors ? you might want to try that if your not already.
Make sure you don't have the 5v jumper slected by accident on the mb for your memory too, I know your not using above 3.2v but may have left it selected at 5v by accident (I know I have b4) and this will cause memory instability.
Just suggestions ;)
Yes I use all the extra power connector on the mobo.....
And yes its not on 5v...
But thanks for trying helping me Major :toast:
