That works fine if everything's installed correctly. If the heatsink isn't completely flush or the thermal compound isn't spread correctly, there won't be any way to tell. Touching the heatsink won't tell you that there's poor conductivity between it and the core.Quote:

powering down be anything...CPU, PSU, RAM, motherboard, heat......i always lean to PSU if everything is at stock
can you explain what actually happens.....does it just reboot on its own or what.....stock settings.....difference between 1T and 2T

My buddy recently purchased the AN8-SLI (Non Fat version) and when I tweaked his Venice 3200+ I was able to obtain 250x10 1:1 2.5-2-2-5 1T on his OCZ Plat Rev 2 memory @ 2.9V. He plays a lot of UT2K4 and I looped 3DMark03 5x before I left his house. Needless to say his system is fast, and rock solid. :toast:
To the person who's system keeps turning off with this mobo, I feel your pain. My San Diego 3700+ does this all the time to me if I go over 235 HTT, and it still has shut my system down. I found my processor can oc all the way up to 2.85ghz into Windows, but it simply will not STAY ON if I play a game which is crazy. Temps are within normal spec, but I think the problem lies in the voltage to the chip. If I go over 1.5 volts on any HTT my computer will shut down under heavy loads. It has done this on a K8N Neo2 and my AN8-SLI Fat. board
Needless to say I am trying to sell my San Diego and gets another :slapass:
that seems to only happen with the venice/sandiego cores... it´s a pain...
anyone interested in an AN8-SLI please PM me. It works perfectly fine. I ordered two thinking it was defective but it turns out to just be a Venice issue. The only "mod" I did was replace the thermal pad with Ceramique.
i had the PC turned off, cable unplugged after that burn-in this morning.......left UTT config at 250MHz 1:1@3.55vdimm.....
started the PC now and no problems.....memtest OK....seems that there is no cold boot issue according to one example from XS...so that's good....tightened the timings where ever possible and looping at 256Mhz
i had the initial setup outside the case and all so i put it all together...plugged all the :banana::banana::banana::banana: in and so forth....when i turn the PC on i get this continuous buzzing sound from the case speaker...i don't know whether that was there yesterday or not as i didn't have it plugged in....i went into the bios and disabled the beeping and it stopped....i checked out everything in the bios and nothing seems out of the ordinary so i'm wondering what that beeping is about :confused:
it might have been case fan not plugged in
