Just got a response from Monarch:
Thank you for your inquiry.
We have not heard anything definitive yet. As soon as we have a reliable ETA and
pricing we will have it on the website for pre-orders.
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Sincerely,
Rick

If we assume this is the truth, then we may still have to wait. Once they do get an ETA, it may still take up to 2 weeks to actually be in stock. But there is hope. He said nothing definitive, which means they HAVE heard some things. If they had heard nothing, he could have just said so.
in other words, he's basically saying. let us clear out our inventory of winnies before we starts selling Venices. it makes perfect sense. i'm going to stop waiting and when it comes it comes. would be nice to be able to order this week, but i guess that won't happen.
So your gonna order a winnie?Quote:

I don't really mind waiting, I just want to know when it is going to be available!!
try froogle and call that best solution unlimited place and see if they have it :). good luck.
I just spoke to a member of the Field Applications Engineering Department for AMD. He told me that the only way to buy directly from AMD via a sales rep. is if you buy upwards of 1000 processors. He wouldn't say anything about the E3 stepping reaching the retail channel though. :(
Edit: Just ordered a 3200+ from that Best Selection place. Hopefully it's the real thing. The part numbers (ada3200bpbox) definitely match. :sonic:
how about we buy a batch for XS :D . Im sure we should get at least 500 orders in .
May Saaya or Fugger can help us out with this ?
Surely AMD wouldnt pass up on selling 500+ processors in one go and not to mention the free publicity they would get from this.
well, we have a total of 16,000 members :p:Quote:

Somebody should make some calls. :D
I honestly wouldnt mind a 3200+ at this point. I would max out before the processor tops out on the air cooling that im on . I just want another good overclocking chip. So i can start working on my Gaming Rig #2 :D .
But seriously it would work , seeing how many ppl ardently watch this section and post in this thread , we should easily get enough members as customers to get AMD to notice us. And not to mention it will be cheaper than buying from Newegg or Monarch since they are gonna jack the price of their first lot.
That Best Selection place sure tries to rip you off for shipping...$15 for Ground shipping? WTF? :nono: :slapass:
I don't know if I want to pay what amounts to a $60 premium if you include the shipping over Newegg's current price for a 3500+ retail boxed Clawhammer. That just isn't right.
edit: Well, I bit the bullet and ordered the thing. 3500+ for $295 + $24 2-day S/H  + $1.50 tax (first time I've ever been charged tax for WA state  ) = ~$321. That's still less than the NCIX.com gouge-price, which makes the NCIX price even more laughable. It had better OC to 3ghz for the premium I'm paying...
Not only do they rip you off on shipping, but they don't even have the freakin chips in stock. I just got an email saying the item is backordered with no ETA, so I cancelled.:banana::banana::banana:.

At the beginning of a new product they produce very few waifers taking a longer time, these are the first 1mb 0.90 being made so it takes some practice, literally, and some thinking and adjusting between production runs to tweak yeilds and cost. AT the beginning of these new product runs they get very few out so distributors get very few in stock. Newegg, and many of the biggest suppliers simply have no want or need to buy in low numbers of a product as they make fairly little overhead and the way to make profit is huge bulk. Thats why they'd far prefer to ignore 10 venice wanting customers and get in 500 winchesters which they can sell for larger margins.
thats why you almost always see smaller stores and if you look, places like evesham.com's surplus stores getting them in first, the biggest shipments tend to hit system builders, and everyone else tends to get them in small quantities. As said in one of these posts thats an e-mail reply, QUANTITY shipments will commence in 1-2 months, thats all newegg and bigger places care about, smaller stores that cater more to the overclocker will get in the smaller quantities and higher prices, and thats the main reason for the higher prices, the stores are simply buying them in 10's rather than 100's or 1000's and that changes cost per unit significantly, especially with shipping added on. they've already been seen in smaller stores have they not?
also the 2.8Ghz review, from what i can tell has the bug anandtech talked about with 2t memory on the dfi boards, they used a dfi board and had "unexplained" 400MB drop in score on sisoft bandwidth and a few other results. IMHO they have the 2T mem problem with dfi, and that could seriously affect the actual reachable speeds with 1 gig mem installed, IE it might not get as high as they did in the review if it was at 1T, fsb wise i'm talking, top speed is probably fairly accurate.
also BN 3500+'s, pretty easy, failed san diego 1mb cores, exactly the same as the current clawhammer 3500+'s that are failed FX55's.
sorry to drag on also, but amd and intel stockpile large numbers of cpu's till they reach a point where they have the numbers in stock and being produced to be able to make a deal with, as an example, say sony, to be able to say we can currently give you say 4k cpu's per week. due to the way system builders work, for 100% stability and compatibility testing they need to know they can get say 3-4k of a brand new core so they can change a system over test it then sell it. they can't order 500, then have to make the next 500 with a different core. so amd are also stockpiling lots. there are LOTS of reasons for mass shipments not to start straight away, but small numbers will appear, and soon.
I was checked all around the Web-sites computer hard-ware stores, and the NCIX.com (in Canada) have the best prices, on the Venice, exemple: anywhere else for an ADA3500BPBOX Venice the prices is around 389$ to 402$, while the NCIX.com sale it for only 330$ that is almost 60$ to 70$ cheaper  hopefully in a few days we will have somme others stores, will sale it with the more cheaper price :toast: :fact:
ps: If someOne find a web-site store, who have thoses Venice in stock, please post the link overhere... Thank you verymuch for your kindness :toast:
Count me in. I would get a 3000+ or 3200+ if there was a large enough group. :DQuote:

I jumped the gun and ordered a 3200+ Venice from Bottom Line Telecommunications (shopblt.com). Here's the confirmation I received...
"We've submitted an order to the manufacturer for the above item. Assuming
stock is available, it should arrive into our warehouse within three to ten
business days. Upon arrival at the warehouse, we will send you a
notification and ship the item immediately. Within 48 hours of shipping,
we will send you a receipt by email with tracking information (if available)."
Its a stretch but hey, maybe Ill run into some luck and have the little sucker in a couple weeks.
