wow I want one, but that isnt correct vcore right surely .....
So 54x is max for you?
Chri$ch - if you dont mind - what batch is yours?

No I only wish it was. That was at 1.60v bios with f6c bios. 56 multi is no problem though 57 is a no go on this chip.
Has anyone tried a L051A954 or L051A964 ?
Astennu - this has me very concerned, your cpu is near identical batch to Chri$ch's lovely one but yours performs much worse, this will make buying a cpu very tough.Quote:

:clap::clap::clap:
I'm almost sure I can even lower vCore:yepp:
@ aussie-revhead
the batch isn't a indicator for a good CPU... ;)
there good and bad cpus at every batch.
@ st0ned
nice CPU but why so low GFlops? i get ~120GFlops at 4.5GHz. Are you shure that it not throttle or something like this?!
Chri$ch - is there any way to assist in making a semi-educated choice ? Or is it purely luck? Yours is a cracker, have you seen any better than yours?
I was just trying some things and my cpu seems to like benching no higher than 4950 regardless of what combination of multi and bclk you use to get there. I was benching up til now at 47x105.4 , I just had it running at 51x98 (4998mhz) but it wouldnt take load there.
Interestingly Asus Auto Tune got this setup to 4939 (47x105.3) so I thought it would have a bit left in it, I was surprised to find I can hardly get any higher than the utility, has asus learned our habits that easily and become as good at this as we try to be?
Also: I found this batch locally - L041B204 - is this a good one? Does anyone here have one?
benny here has this batch and it proved quite good, but I guess another one even with the same batch might not be so good right?
:)
@ Chri$ch... You have two nice samples (chips) from two of the stronger batch(s) #L040B308 and L042B076.
I agree that batch# is not always an indicator of a strong cpu. I think with the smaller SB chip size and the large wafer size Intel is able to bin many more average samples. Strong ones are out there but they are not easy to find. I tested one 2600K batch that had an easy 300Mhz difference between samples with the same BIOS settings.
Figuring out Intel's core-business is not a easy task.
These chips doesn't have the same OC-headroom, for sure, but what makes that difference is as tricky each time. We will hopefully figure it out soon, LOL.
Well I dont have words for how happy I am atm... I almost jizz in my pants:rofl:

Low memory, right
Low Gflops = low mem freq.
What batch is that?
Very nice indeed mate.
guys anyone bought a few days ago a I2600k from newegg ? what batch did you get ? a friend bough it from me on FL
cheers all
Sergio
congrats on the good results mates !
L042B076, but guess this is a golden sample :D
I've two L042B076, both are good clockers, the 1st one I've allready put some screens here of him, can go for 5Ghz with 1.424v. The 2nd one is just this insane b*tch :D
Uhm I dont really like where this is going, I aint cheating for the good sake of it. Just LinX 4threads is faster ( +Gflops ) and it also pulls more watts out of the CPU ( read about it on this topic, I've allready talked about this ). So for a fast stability test ( that was what I wanted on my 1st attempt for 5.2 ) it was just fine.

I've to improve my cooling but it was running just fine, I just dont like to go higher then 70ºC on this one...
I'll work on a longer prime run, also I'm having some MB issues ( I think ), runing mem at high speeds at this freqs ( I was allready having some at 5.1 ) seems to get harder and harder.
Btw, setup pic: http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/9738/setupmt.jpg
what's you Vcore in bios?
you lucky dog..you are
Im not saying you are cheating. But what I am saying, for the sake of a good screenshot, LinX run at 100% load 99% of time the test is running, how hard is it to get a screen showing 100% load, that and the low gflops makes for a not so good screen.
I understand completely though running only 4 threads, I had to do that on my Bloomfield to keep temps down.
All 4 screens 5ghz or above are running at 50%, great timing.

Really lucky :D
I'm using offset mode, +0.01v with Extreme LLC.
Settings @ bios :

I was runing Ht ON, with linx only runing in 4 threds, so 50% it's normal...
4threads vs 8threads post
L041C108 I just bought one from a guy on eBay that has 3 new in box retails - anyone hear about this batch?
Gflops take mem in to account, and look at mine... 663 10-11-10-28...
My mem kit is only a CL9 1600 one, and when you go above 5.0Ghz mems get really in the way, high freqs are really hard.
I can't do 800Mhz CL9 9-9-9-24 1T, I get a 0x000001E as soon as I start something stressfull
