Just for you :)
I have to give Vapor some credit, he was the one holding the motherboard still :D
lol good call
Just one in a few dozen, this one was just spectacular
Welcome to use it, I am rather attached to my Diablo sprite :cool:
I bet it was Gautam :shakes: In all seriousness, this most likely happened due to the eraser being pressed and frozen around the socket and then a ring of ice holding the insulation to the eraser and then me pulling up in a not too gentle manner all while at -192C.
Have plenty of those, just need more LN2 :up:

Am I the only 1 that finds it ironic that the board says "ULTRA DURABLE" right underneath the destroyed socket?:p:
This will be fixed in Ultra Durable 4 :rofl:
except minus 192° in small letters beneath it :p
I had this almost happen to me once the condensation form and of course the eraser did its job right up until it froze the pot to the socket I was patient though waited and eventually took a hair dryer to it.
Nice Gomeler! LOL
I don't like waiting for the socket area unfreeze so I just fill the container with warm/hot water until the container separates by it self. No added force needed and its pretty quick.
I once put off an ihs off a 4000+ in this method :rofl:

so, AMD is going backwards in this way :D
lesson - don't mess glue with thermal paste
Ahhh nice meetup guys! :up:
Vince... am sure you had all da fun with gun. Sham... that UT score, well dats not good man!! :D
Famous last words "I've done this tons of times, just hold it."
:D
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
where is miah now
oh i know what's wrong, we're just a couple of dumbasses :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
we warmed up our pot back in January with PH2 and the chip still managed to be pulled out of socket due to sticky mount (this was due to thermal paste creating a perfect bond) >> i was too scared to twist as i tried so decided to just yank it out lol
That's why I pull the pot off still cold, typically the Ceramique cleanly separates. Then again this is also typically around -50C or so after I warm it up a bit :D I hate Phenom II's lack of a socket retention mechanism, yanking chips and bending pins is so frustrating :shakes:
they REALLY REALLY need to go to LGA design
so much better its not funny
The "event" was spectacular; it was a pleasure meeting each and every one that showed up. I'm also especially glad that I finally got to see the dream team bench in person. Their prowess is simply on a completely different level, even from those of us that have been doing this for years. Can't wait till next time! :D
ROFL Gautam if you come to Sydney mate dont come to my place
last thing i need is an accident prone n00b in my tight space here :rofl: j/k
LOL - vapor and gautam were knocking over the same pop cans like it was their job - and the mobo being knocked on the floor and gautam quickly picking it up and acting like nothing happened :rofl: and then having a knocked pop goon it :P:
it really was a blast meeting all of you and I can't think of a better way to spend the weekend than learning from the best :D - and learning the classified from Shamino was a real treat :D :up:
Jody- Vince really got a kick out of your "no look pour" pic that you had me do :P:
