I'm renting and have run some cat 5e from where my main station is to my boys systems. The girls have just scored wireless access (cat5e lead was too short to run under the house) but everything else is wired.

Having the right kind of landlords REALLY helps though.

You weren't here when this happenned but way back in early 2007 ryderOCZ got a sliver of pie one day..He was thrilled like a little kid cause grabbing pie was a toughie.
Then Perkam, a mod here, posted this pic and I laughed so damned loud I almost blew my lunch on the monitor:
