Here is a couple of threads from the EVGA nForce 780i Series Forum on EVGA's site. They don't specifically say what is best for your processor, but it explains exactly what those settings are. They are still trying to figure out the best setting as well. Hope this helps.Quote:

Not sure where you got the impression we are discussing x38 MoBo's. My problem IS with a 780i MoBo. If I mentioned x38 MoBo's, it was in reference to an issue I had with two x38's I got BEFORE the 780i.
This is in no way a discussion about the x38 (or any other MoBo's).
My issue is with SATA DVD writers and the 780i board. When an application trys to use the SATA DVD writer, I will sometimes get the BSOD. The error that comes up is with nvgts.sys. This is the MoBo driver set (I assume for the drive controllers).
The other issue I now have discovered is that when I try to actually write to the SATA DVD writer (with Convertx2DVD in this case, which I think is using the Nero drivers), the application says preparing to write and a time to finish. The time to finish keeps Increasing! And when I cancel, the entire application hangs and the machine will not restart, I often have to power off.
Any one else seeing this issue? I am at the point of trying a IDE drive to see if I get the same issue.

Also I tried to download memtest but it says I cant because it's not compatible with 64 bit OS or something like that.
I set my GTLVREF 1 and 2 to +05mv and it seems to have helped my stability. I am currently 500x8 with 2x2gb g.skill.
Also I just reread the first page and noticed the SATA CD/DVD-ROM issue and its definately affecting my Samsung burner. I made about 10 coasters tonight, trying different SATA ports, not overclocking, fsb changes, made sure DMA enabled, tried Cheetah Burner, Nero 6 and 7, and Imgburn and nothing burnt a dvd-r for me. Somehome I was able to burn a dvd+rw???? Go figure. I do hope the come out with a BIOS fix for the SATA issue.
What, that this is a 780i board discussing? Or that there are issues with SATA drives on this MoBo. Further update, verified that the IDE burner works just fine, no change to software, so I have sent a note to eVGA to see what they say about it. There shouldn't be a problem with mixing optical drives and a RAID array. :shrug:Quote:

How do I manually set NB voltage? Is this the same as CPU FSB?
I have the voltages set to Auto for cpu and in cpu-z it says it is 1.32volts. Why is this higher than what others are getting in auto settings?
I flashed bios yesterday.... I have an E8400 on air and want 4.0ghz. I'm thinking I will set FSB to 1800 with a 9x multi. What voltages should I start with? I'm thinking since it says 1.32 in cpu-z it should be good for now.
Also I have sli enabled (expert) running linked with sync for memory. This should give me 900mhz. Do you think i'll need to loosen timings? Isnt the only other way to run 800mhz with an 1800mhz fsb to run unlinked and manually set speed? I'm new and need help.
memory is OCZ reaper pc6400 2X2 (that's why I need to know how to bump NB voltages) running at 1600fsb linked in sync mode with 4-4-4-15 timings.

Whats the highest multi that this board supports for the QX9650?
Have you tried the settings here outlined earlier? These are working with a QX9650 / Q6600 on an eVGA Board running the P03 Bios (XFX version)?

I dont want them to get to high for temps. But if it's not critical to WC them, i'm not going to...
So i have been running the board, prime 95 blend is stable for hours, one thing that is REALLY!!!! getting on my nerves is, my computer once a day, its getting on my nerves, system is stable and can play crysis for hours, TF2 for hours...........this is really annoying.....it just hangs, no bsod no restarting, just a frozen screen..........anyone run into this issue?
Also, i just realized, pci-e 1 and 2 slots can only be overclocked within windows with ntune software, otherwise only pci-e is controlled with bios, i find this odd.
ok so i figured out pci-e 1 and 2 are by default working at 125mhz, controlled by the nf200 chipset.
IIRC when you are running PCIe2 compliant GPUs then the OC options are removed leaving just PCIe_3 visible in BIOS.
