Umm WTF? I tested the GTX in the test rig like every other block, I tested the GT as well. This is just a quick test to confirm or deny a hunch I have. Again, the GT and the GTX were both tested like every other block. IDK what disclaimer you are talking about.

IanY thought you were testing the GTX with the GT top, since you said you'd never run any Al, no matter how coated, in your loop. I guess he didn't see that pic.

Ahh, I see. I would not run anything al. in MY system (points to big green machine in avatar). The test rig (which I guess could also be considered my system) will run anything and everything :D Sorry for the confusion Ian.

I do not believe he is try to mislead or decieve anyone..I actually think it is a great idea....

if the results are good Gabe(aka swiftech may even consider selling a hybrid product..since he did say he would be open to things/ideas if it will help him sell a few 100 more blocks)

I am sure he will post results for the 5mounts with the GT and GTX blocks..and a hybrid product to see how that works

EDIT: oops maybe I am the one being really stupid..I may have misread things..so you cant place a GT top on the GTX base?...

Guys FYI!!!! The ONLY difference between GT and GTX is top and mount plate. Base is the SAME.

Hey...I resemble that "trusty mod"....please know I didn't single you out....I am just doin my job...

Btw, my own testing has revealed a bit better performance with my fairly highly overclaocked E6300. At 3.5ghz and 1.6 vcore the GTX has about 2c better Delta T (from the ambient air temps) than the GT. This is like 4c better than the Fuzion which I also own....and ...well...a lot better than my trusty Storm. I cannot wait til April 22nd so I can order my greatly-reduced-price quad core and really heat things up! I'll be finishing this part of the CPU review and publishing it soon as someone can loan me an MP-05 to see if it can hang with the home boys at Swiftech. Alex - *cough* sells them *cough* can he *cough* loan me one?;)

Any plans to release a G80/G81 version MCW-Ramcool ? May I suggest a 3/8" fitting (instead of 1/4" fitting) this time around ?

I mounted my MCW30 to the NB on my board and I have to say a 4 point mount would allow for a secure and balanced mate with the NB chip. It seems, though I have tightened the screws almost to the point the wont move it doesn't seem secure to me.

Do the GT and GTX's absolutely have to have the thicker o-ring/bowed base ?? How do they perform out of the box ?

For best performance they must be bowed. With a flat base they are (at a guess, flat versions going in test bed this week) 2-3C worse.
