I could, but it will be sometime this weekend or next week when I get the board memory and proc. I will not guarantee the bios though. So you'd have to flash at your own risk. I probably wont have to worry about all the things everyone else is stressing over.Quote:

Just got my E6600 B2 step today, but not sure about using beta 714 bios yet.
714 bios is pretty good. So far I am at 347X8 on my E6400. I recommend you upgrade ASAP.
does anyone know if the Geil 2GB PC2-6400 kit of ram (the ones with the funky orange heat spreaders) will boot on this board with the original 700 bios at all?
need to know if I have to get a cheap stick of ram for when I get my replacement PSU i had to RMA

714 doesn't seem that much different for me, just that the CPU clock is showing correctly. My voltages are still showing up wrong in the BIOS though (at least I hope my 12V isn't at 14.22V :rolleyes: ). I've got it at 7x360 right now (E6300).Quote:

Why shouldn't we use winflash? I got all my parts now, exept the CPU which is two km away from here, but the local postservice is slow. So I probably have to wait tomorrow, and I am counting the minutes.

Okay my board has come along with an E6300.
I want to install Windows using an SATA hard drive? Will I need to install any drivers for it to pick up the SATA hard drive as bootable?
Never installed Windows on an SATA drive before and the SATA drives I have used have only been secondary drives.

Before flashing make sure you go into your bios and load "Optimized Defaults". After you get into windows select bootblock, DMI area (or just update all), also select CMOS default. , flash your board with the new bios. Looks like I ran into a brick wall. Anything over 375FSB either does not boot or fails SuperPi 32MB. I tried 1.45vcore and 2.2vdimm. I have disabled SpeedStep and C1E.
Anything else to help this? I have awesome ram, Corsair 6400C3s so I know its either bios related or the CPU limit.
I am currently stable at 375X8=3GHz. I don't know whether to be satisfied or continue to keep tweaking, but whats left to tweak? I left everything else on SPD and I didn't touch the memory settings.
It is probably the CPU. I can do SP2004 for 1.5 hours at 8x400 with my e6400 before it crashes. SuperPi 1m is no problem. Still trying to find highest staple overclock

Run 1 to 1.
Your voltage should be fine.
Relax your timings to start with.
Disabling SpeedStep and C1E will not help you.
Make sure pci bus is not in sync I think it's Async you want.
PCI-E voltage to 1.55 or 1.6.
One thing no one has mentioned is this thread is northbridge cooling. I have a Thermalright HR-05 on mine, but I don't have a fan on it yet. Has anyone else replaced their NB heatsink and gotten better results?
Kyosen actually got a lower achievable FSB while running the Corsair C3's than he did running the 5400UL.. 454 1:1 unmodded board with UL's. and his board was retail if I remember right. I can ask him to chime into this thread with some secrets. ;)
CPU temp is 56 underload. Increasing my PCIEV reduced stablity. That northbridge runs extremely hot. Any easy way of cooling it without removing the MB completely?
Well I still can't seem to get succesfull raid install but I got my harddrives running in non raid and installed os. I set to 400 fsb right away with all stock voltages except memory which is set at 1.9. This is all I wanted out of this board and it is stable as can be. I am running 714 bios temps don't go over 45c. Bios 12v reads 12.4 and cpu temp reads about 5 degrees c high but these are the only things I can find. I have a feeling that this board will get to 420/430 fsb no problems. Temps read right in dual core center. WEll here are some shots.
