I too upgraded to the 3.10 bios... and it was causing my machine to first go into a form of Hibernation which would take 2 minutes to come out of. Then, once the machine "woke up" 60 seconds later it would click off and then back on. Happened every time after coming out of hibernation. I did not have hibernation turned on. In fact, it was not even an option.
Anyhow, i downgraded my bios back to v2.10 and now I too experience the 2 errors upon turning on the machine "error, system cannot get a fw version" and then "heci pointer mismatch".
The machine is now stable again. 1 week and no crashes, no power clicking off.
I'm now looking to fix the errors.
Seems there is a fix, per the instructions above, only, i can't figure out how to do a PURE DOS bios flash. I've done instant flash upon turning on the machine as well as flashing under windows, but that has not resolved the issue. I did also flash with the 2.10H (which is a beta) and that didn't do it.
So i'm guessing i need to do this under pure DOS but again, i don't know how to do that.
I do have the "dos" version of the flash for 2.10.
I also have the "dos" version of the flash for v1.90, however, both v1.90 and 2.10 are executables... and i can't seem to get them to extract. Windows 7 is running them as if i'm trying to install and i get an error that it's not compatible.
I've been back to the AsROCK software support site for my board (Extreme4 P67) however... seems they have removed all older versions of the BIOS as the only one that is available is the newest 3.10.
Again, i have the older versions... just not sure how to do it, other than using Instant Flash.
Any advise would be welcome and again, sorry for the newbie question.
