my quad uses the same amount of electricity at 3.5ghz as my am2 x2 4200 at 2.5ghz and i'm getting 4 times more ppd

That's kinda what I figured. I can't see it using a lot of juice (compared to what I've got) without it having some honking big Vid card(s) attached.

:up: Good day guys!
Another solid day of crunching, nice work everyone! :up:
Has anybody bothered working our what their rigs do in terms of points per kWh?
Actually, that would be a really interesting thing to add to the benchmark charts ... painful to gather the data, but interesting.
I did, at some point,, quickly forgot about it mainly because certain phase rigs use way too much power :shakes:
Really, it'd be better to compile that kind of data on rigs running at stock speeds as well as overclocked to varying degrees. Again, big project.
I've thought about doing it for a while but never got around to building myself a lead I can whack my ammeter on.
get a watt meter you cheap bastage. (kidding) :D :D :D
seriously, I have one and it gives you a good view of overall system usage. The best idea though is when you upgrade your ups, to get one with a built in watt meter. :)
Upgrade? :ROTF::ROTF::ROTF::ROTF::ROTF:
... and just where do you think a full time student married to an unemployed spouse with 4 kids (3 teenagers) is gonna get the $$$s to do that? :ROTF::ROTF:
I'm an industrial electrician by trade with electronics and instrumentation experience (among other things). If I want it, I can build it ... if I can get time and enthusiasm. :shakes:
plus ... I'm not math-challenged enough to need a meter to work out watts when I already know voltage, current and power factor. :p:

woooooooooooot... nice scores... :D
:ROTF::ROTF::ROTF:
Seriously though, 23k WCG is rather attainable per member. One Q6600 and a Dualie, both at moderate clocks will do it...
Or a 920 i7 ;)
So even if you take the Hamster Gawd DDT's points out of it. That is still a big big number per member. Hell take the top 50 out and figure the rest of the 200 and it is still impressive that a team of 250 can do 5.9 mil even in one day let alone we did Blue what 6-7 times last month?
Anywho, Think Blue!! only a bit left till the results. :up:

I don't know about 7mil monday, but by thanksgiving, that shouldn't be a problem. My i7 rig will finally be online soon.
