huh! did draw a small diagram too se what temps should be with 1500rpm.
(got too around 4) But when i drew the line push went by pull! but this cannot translate into real world since we have wery little data and i drew it by hand!
but it seemes as at a certain point(1200rpm) it doesnt matter anymore! (so on my diagram they should be even, not cross each other!)
I'm a little confused about this, when you guys say push you guys mean the air is going through the rad? and pull means it's taking heat away from the rad or no air is actually going through the rad?

NOt surprising in any way whatsoever. Push-pull is like putting 2 pumps in series - max flow remains the same but you get doubel the static pressure. PAs have incredibly low restriction, so static pressure doesent really matter until you seriously undervolt silent fans on them.Quote:

Interesting though. I wonder why. Why would there be a difference between push and pull and low rpms? The only difference between the 2 is the posible deadspot in push, but why would that stop to matter @ 9v... interesting, yet confusing.
Radical, i know its a lot of work, but you could you test no-shroud push & pull as well shroud/no shroud push-pull? Id like to have some definite idea on whats best here, cathar had said he was gonna do more tests but he never got around to doing it.

Possibly. Or possibly its an aerodynamic effect created by the intereference of the airflow disruption caused by the preceding blade in backpressure situations.
In any case i suspect its a subtle phenomenon, i doubt you'd see it in other rads... certianly on a BIP the fpi count would brickwall the fans well before 4v. Its probably only detectable at very low airflows.
Sure, I'll try to test those two things too. The tests I did today were with a shroud, both of them.
So the higher the rpm's got, the smaller the differences between push and pull were.
Maybe it's because the rad is so thick, as it doesn't really push that much air at 600rpm... I really don't know yet.
Well, i doubt we'll ever find out the exact cause, but having the results is just as good in the end :)
Yes, I guess so ;) It's ok as long as we know what to do or how to handle it. And to be honest, the difference ain't big, also running Yates below 6V... well, they're quiet even before that I'd say.

Sure, same size. Btw., I never thought it would be considerable, but the air in/out temps marci measured are really interesting to look at when comparing rads :) I really like that.

What about other rads and fans? I have the Swiftech MCR-220 radiator and
Noiseblocker XL2 fans (~57CFM@21dB/A).
What would be better (recommended) ..push or pull? Pull would be easier to
set up....so would there be any noticable difference in temperatures or would
the difference be under 1C
