any new overclock data on these cards? why arnt these overclocking super like the gto's? i read a few articles that since they have 12 pipes it invreased the overclock potential but when it was flashed to 16p the overclock potential decreased. should these have the same traits?

k cool. hey is the OP overclocking on stock voltage? or atitool voltage mod? cuz if its stock voltage thats not bad. i want to see what happens when we bump the voltage.
more likely have luck using a normal XT/XTX bios than an AIW bios.
Both were tested. Both failed.
BTW, X1900GT uses far less core voltage than the X1900XT/XTX. It OCs past OC'ed X1900XT/X with only 1.375v, in a review I saw a while ago. Stock cooler :)
i think the bios is protected..when it comes to pipes and shader units and device id..
just wait till another company comes in.

So far, I used Overclocker to set the voltage and fan speed and ATI Tool to set the clocks. Remember that the RAM timings with ATI Tool are not loosened so can't be compared to Overclocker results.
At 1.375v vgpu, 2.2v for both vmems, I got 670-675/842
This is with the stock cooler, stock TIM, max fan speed. Pretty sure this is heat-limited.

The last trick up ATI's sleeve for 2006 is integrated Crossfire. ATI RV560 and RV570 will use an on-chip Crossfire logic that will allow for any motherboard to use dual GPUs in Crossfire mode. The composite engine used in the core still does not move all of the data across the PCIe lanes, and manufacturers insist to us that some sort of dongle or bridge will be needed between each card.
ATI's upcoming RV560 is a 128-bit pipeline, 450MHz core, 650MHz memory, 16x32 6 layer PCB. Roadmaps indicate that ATI will introduce both AGP and PCIe versions in August of this year. ATI's RV570 is identical (as far as we know) to RV560 except that it will have a 256-bit pipeline instead of 128-bit. Core frequency will remain the same as well as memory frequency.
At the most high end of ATI's mid-range is the RV570XT ASIC. RV570XT will feature everything the same as RV570XL, but have significantly higher clock speeds. The core clock speed should reach more than 600MHz and the memory clock speeds should obtain speeds near 1.1GHz.

so... if RV570 is the X1700 series, then what is the RV560? X1700SE?
with 256bit memory, looks like it may destroy the 7600GT... and finally bring an end to the 128bit mid-rage cards.

well.. it's not unusual for SE versions to have half memory bitrate. and i could see X1600XT = X1700SE or such.
