eeeerrr.. i gave my girl friend that as a present, i would be slapped and she would block my calls.
most of us teenagers have lives that dont run around PCs (i have a seperate private life for my PC) mso anything that came from a PC (leather PSU case) isn't really fansied.
apart from Processor keyrings.

According to Tagan, a cheaper alternative is the XScale 750. They are pushing that ATI uses it for internal testing. It's about 50 bucks cheaper than the 900W and comes with the split-combine 12V switch.
I was considering ordering some for testing, but I think I'll wait and see what the people with the nice testing equipment have to say.
Not impressed until I see the testing.

I still have my 900w version (which is revised), I had a few problems with the first supply but the second one seems ok. I had suspected (if you read earlier in the thread), that the second unit was under spec in terms of wattage to the pcie rails. However I later found (have been testing for 3 solid days now), that my case and Crossfire system do not got too well with each other (to an extent). Trouble is that ATI have really relaxed the fan speeds of the 1900, in order to keep it quiet. This works fine @ stock speed, but if you overclock (using CCC) the combo of my case and the overclock results in the temps of the gpu's to hit 90 degrees. At this level lock ups during games and benchmarks can take place. I removed the case side panel and the issues went away. So to date I have increased the cooling around the cards and also used ATI tool to create a custom fan speed config, which ramps the stock fans upto full speed at 70 degrees celsius. The initial problems have now gone.
In terms of rails, I have a multimeter so if you tell me which pins to place the probes on I can try. If I find it too fiddly though I may not bother as I don't want my rig to go lunar.
ITE shows the 12v rail at 12.09 and it drops to 12.03 upon heavy load.
Obviously things may be different for the 1100w version.

edit actually running the cpu at 100% load in the Stress test (S&M does not lower the reported voltage in Smartguardian, stays steady at 12.09)
no load readings on Smartguardian
slight gfx load, no real change the 12v fluctuates slightly between 12.09 and 12.03, the cards are on seperate rails, so I assume it's the fans that create the slight drift as they ramp up and down, nothing major though no real dips.

Clint, the noise is pretty quiet in my system, I'll try and stop all the other fans for a bit to see how much noise it really makes. ATM I have to put my head right next to the outlet fan to hear it working. Remember I have the 900w version, so the 1100 should be even more stable. One thing I have noted even when running 3d mark 06 with 1900 Crossfire the air out of the psu never gets really hot, which means it handles the load really well.

Yes, thats what I thought..such high output and only 2 x 80mm fans spinning slowly...that calls for a very high efficiency.
Very nice looking indeed, I'm still on my 480w'er, it has served me well until today and are the quietest moving part in my system (well, the fan is.. :))

just unplugged every fan from my case, at idle it's not as quiet as the Seasonic with it's 120mm fan. I can hear it from my seated position (1 metre away), but it's not annoying, I'd say it's around 20db or so. Only completley silent systems would be concerned, even then I think there are louder supplies out there.

edit I reckon it would take a couple of 80mm Akasa Ambers for nigh on silence. For me it would not make any difference as the 1900's make more noise at idle than the psu (higher pitch).
Now THAT is stylish. More stylish than most girls :toast:

raju, what motherboard are you using?
has anybody tried these supplies on a dfi expert or venus board?
DFI CFX3200-DR...
The first version of these supplies had a known issue upon startup, the switch on current limiting was set too low. Tagan recalled the inital supplies. The new revision has no known issues, at least with the newer DFI boards.

there's around 20 sata connectors, it becomes hard to tuck them all away if your not using them. I wish that Tagan had made the sata and molex cables modular, so you could plug in as many as required.
