I'll start it off by posting what I think will most likely be max FSB attainable with my A7N8X.

A quick overview of mods, 1.9v on the chipset, 3.12v on the memory, 1002.001 beta bios, cpu_fsb jumper @ 100, new battery, 85w peltier + chilled water on the core (-5 to -8C temps). My PSU is also vmodded and gives me 5.15V under load approximately (not sure if that affects the high clock.) Memory is 2 sticks of XMS3500 (winbond -5ns) in DC 100% sync.

EDIT: Timings were 2.5-7-3-3 @ 240mhz. 2-6-2-2 @ 236mhz

Sorry, this may be a n00b question... sysfailur how did you get to 240Mhz FSB if A7N8X is supposed to support only 211Mhz FSB??? (I think so :rolleyes: )

You should flash bios sometimes, and you will see some changes, up to 250 I think :D

Well the option to get to 250 is there but it would be mighty tricky to hit it! And without a chipset voltage mod or memory voltage mod on the A7N8X don't expect to get much past 205-210. :(

Yeah, finaly made vddr/vbt mod on 8rda+ So I charged my Kingston with 3.23V and got this

2x256 Corsair XMS3500c2 ,slots 1+2 ( I think it was c10 bios)

I never cut the L12 bridge on this 2600+/333 chip, but I did remove the JCLK jumper.

XLNT score there morphling....... :thumbsup: , the 1.1 I have now doesn't run as good as that board did at 1.8 vdd...... still looking into what I can do to make it better......... wonder if the L12 will do anything for me? I know bowman said it did for his, and he has the same chip I do ( 2600+/333).... considering it.

I am regretting not cooling my old boards NB with at least a wb, and even better a wb/pelt combo and raising the vdd to 1.85+....... that board was rockin' at the lowly 1.77 missed opportunity there... I don't trust this board as much as that 1.....and have 2 156w pelts, but the wb I have does not fit, and I would have to design a hold down out of some strap metal and bolts....been thinking about that also, as this one stops around 233/234. may lower the resistance a bit... heheheh

I would ghost an image right after you do an install if it were me..... that way you don't have to keep reloading the whole thing after/if it gets corrupt.. loading an image takes about 5 minutes.:D

Guys help..I have an issue

I have the MSI K7N2-L nForce 2 motherboard, a wiretricked Athlon XP 2400+ and Kingston HyperX PC3500.

I'm at max FSB @ 200 my ram only does 3,3,7 and the CPU won't go beyond 2.2 Ghz. I'm using AS3 on the CPU and a HHC-001 HSF...Temps are NOT a problem. I'm running this as of now:

CPU @ 2.2 Ghz 1.675 V

FSB @ 200 (DDR400)

Mem @ 3,3,7 2.5V

Now I know one thing, the MSI doesn't allow VDIMM adjustments...so I'm stuck at 2.5V....At DDR400 FSB Dual channel is VERY UNSTABLE, while single channel works fine...Is that whats keeping me from the 2,2,6 settings EVERYONE seems to have?!?!?! Also..the damn MSI doesn't allow over 200Mhz on the FSB..so what do I do???

Do I have to buy an ABIT NF7 V1.2?? Or is there any hope for the MSI??? Any suggestions are welcome as I want to move to the next level! :D

Hollywood... I would have to say that you'll need more VDD (chipset) voltage to stay stable in dual channel. You might also want to try TIGHTER timings believe it or not that might work. Also check for bios updates constantly!

Thats the problem SYS...it seems that the damn K7N2-L has NO fix for the VDIMM settings. Anyone here heard of a fix for us poor, wretched MSI users?!?

I just realized that you meant Chipset voltage (VDD) Duh...Man...That means I may have to slap on a better HSF for the northbrige and do a VDD mod on my mobo...hmm...wonder if there's any mods for the K7N2-L out yet. Now as far as the ram voltage..I think MSI will resolve the issue via a new BIOS..but it's already up to version 3.3 (started at 3.1) and they still have yet to fix the VDIMM issue..
