Intel can fix the bug,why kick the problem to mobo manufacturerQuote:

Got any results with the 965XE on cascade FUGGER?
Nothing, wasnt worth risking my third stage.
The WS board has the same problem as the regular -E and premium boards with the restarting. Going to high FSB the system will power off if the system restarts, this would mean I would have to unplug the third stage to get to low enough temp to restart.
Can't you just loosen the contact so it gets bad?
I have 955XE ES and 965XE ES and with both of them I have no coldbug problem. I am pretty sure of that, yesterday afternoon I had my first bench with 965XE ES on P5WD2-E with LN2 and after system crash, restart, closing the psu and opening, at none of them I had any cold boot problem.. Cpu opened at lowest unit temperature.. I didnt have to wait till it rise to higher temperatures like you mentioned, -50C or so.
After system crashes, I always close the psu, wait about 5 sec, and open it again. Start the system, as Alex mentioned it tries to open at the configuration it hang up, sometimes it can open, sometimes it cant. So I close the psu and open it again. Thats what I have to do at most.. Non stop bench. :comp10:
I understand your problem because I worked on a 670 and it wasnt booting under -120C..
Also 965XE rocks... At 1.75v it made over 6.9 GHZ .. Will work on it tomorrow.. :)
Give us screens Absolute! And results too :P
A bunch of ES Preslers do have a bad cold boot bug - and it's the luck of the draw if you find one that doesn't have it. The mayority I had my hands on were CBug'd by 3:1 - even when they were from the same batch/trayQuote:

Once running most Boot Cbug'd preslers can go as cold as you desire.
I have another 965XE chip to try, lets hope this one is a screamer.
we all hope the best :toast:Quote:

was killing time till my (next) Yonah gets here...and i found that my 920 (from N-egg's very first batch) wont boot with evap (chilly1 SS) <-35C
once booted, it can go as low as the SS can take it without problems.
my ASUS P5WD2-E also has "boot-bug" (restart = 1-3 sec shutdown) BUT even @ <-35C it has always started back up...although the temps FUGGER is trying to restart @ are "out of my league"
looks like we got a "round of bugs for the entire house" :(
