I had this same lock up issue with my 6800nu at 420/950 and now with my 7800GT at 545/1320 when gaming. I kicked the PCIE up to 120, hope it helps. I'm probably just overheating :(

Do let us know Fire, did it help any? I wanna raise mine as well but am afraid if it corrupting my sata drives. Those who increased their pcie clocks to those speeds, were you all using sata?
Good point - I have 2 Raptors on the NVidia RAID controller. Are the RAID controllers *on* the PCI-E bus?
Took a dive and set it to 120. No issues thus far.
I was one who had this issue with the first cards out. My latest RMA is golden and runs fine at the stock speeds of 690/880
