i have the p5p800se with D805 and i get a vcoredrop from 1.304 down to 1.100
i ran 2 instance of prime @3.4ghz i get a rounding error when vcore drop under 1.100
pls help
inteks:)
btw. with this mod vcore is at 1.4 but drops to below 1.100 too

Man, that is really weird.
FWIW, what value of resistance are you guys using for the mod?
Stratcat Read the whole thread before posting. We are talking about pensil mod...
Ahhh...my apologies.
No wonder it didn't make sense to me.
Sorry....very long day + very late nite posting != good.
Thx
i have an 50k pot here but i first tryed the pencil mod.
btw i had 110k befor the mod (shoulnd it have 70k ????)
with pencil mod it has 20k-30k
after cleaning back it has 110k again.
i dont think that i get better result with the resistor because the values are near the same :(
have fun
inteks
I get errors and lock ups with the pencil mod on it! I'm happy I could remove the pencil stuff. I dont recommend this mod for P5P800 SE users because your system can randomly lock up!
I tried the Proth Ghetto Mod, 2B pencil.
It did work initially.

I'm not sure if the fire was due to the mod, or the fact I was running a Smithfield @ the highest voltage the board could supply it (BIOS 1.7V, actually giving 1.4V idle, 1.16V load).
