So does anyone know for sure if the newegg HIS GTO flashes? I'm on the verge of ordering...
they say it's like 90%, so it is almost like sure :D. I really think that it would go all the way to 1800XT.
I had no luck with teh sapphire card I have the HIS card will flash this evening.
Is it me, or did anyone else notice that the His that newegg has and the one that was unlocked by hkepc are 2 different cards. So I dunno why people are jumping to conclusions that 90% of unlock. The card that hkepc used is a HIS X1800GTO IceQ 3, which looks like they put a lot of effert into into getting a new cooler designed, while the ones at neweggs just have the cheap XL cooler on them. I'd buy the HIS X1800GTO IceQ 3 just for the cooler :)

The value changes when flashed with the Sapphire XL bios, as shown in my first post. it is the same value with the 0x7c modified bios.

The modded card that work was a C3D X1800GTO.
The one OCworkbench that didn't unlock was a Powercolor X1800GTO.
The HIS didnt work the one I had from newegg
which bios images did you use and what were your GB_PIPE_SELECT values?

On my "Old" X1800gto
GB_PIPE_SELECT 0x12BB4
Would not unlock and is now Dead and RMA.
Waiting for new card.

yes, we can likely rule out the MOSFETs being an indicator since althes flashed the HIS card and it didnt work.
what bios are people using? i am thinking the HPEKC bios may be fake..
So does there seem to be any particular brand that seems to be unlocking or is it just that one site which seems to be able to have done it? I can get the C3D card cheaper than any other, most brands are around the same price and the HIS is nowhere to be seen (in UK)
Hmmm has anyone noticed that newegg says the conect3D X1800GTO has 16 pipes, or is that just a mistake?

Or am I missing something.
Can someone please post the X1800GTO to XL BIOS from HKEPC? I don't have access to the forum and can't seem to register...
