4GHZ is apparently doable on the P5ND2, i considered giving that setup a try as well. I havn't seen any SS's though.

Hi all, im realy considering this setup to since the P5ND2-SLI is a cheap mobo and so is the 805 a cheap dual core. The only problem is i have heard bad things about the P5ND2-SLI and overclocking. If someone can prove the critics wrong and hit 4GHz with an 805 count me in within a week.

all i can say is that the p5nd2 is a pos mobo.
every one knows about the bad reviews and its good to c one guy running a Pentium D @ 4ghz but just one isn`t enough to prove nothing to me

Maybe, maybe not. As I said above, it's up to the CPU. The problem is that you have to overvolt if needed before you do the pinmod, otherwise it won't POST, and clearing CMOS won't help you either. And since we're dealing with LGA you have to use solder or conductive paint for the mod, just not as easy to remove as a wire in a PM socket. But when you've got it right you don't have to bother anymore as long as you don't clear CMOS...:eek:Quote:

I dont think 805 will run 4ghz at stock. I got two of those. Both needs 1.5x volts to go beyond 4ghz to be stable in prime95, sp2004 etc.Quote:

or you can keep the agp/ddr and start with p5p800 + 805
see your problem is getting over the stock 800 fsb on those chips, try a D 805 i think you can hit 4GHz 800fsb no probs which is stock on those other cpu's, you have the whole area between 533-800fsb to play with.
