a pain in the ass to insatll? it just requires alot of pressure which i think is good b/c u will get better contact withe the cpu.Quote:

Like tests have shown this cooler really needs decent/good airflow for it to shine. Tests with BT vs Zalman CNPS9500 for example shows that BT performs better than 9500 in environments with decent airflow but loses slightly in tests without extra case fans.
In my comp I've got 3x120mm, 3x92mm and 2x80mm case fans. I've lapped the base of TTBT sligthly and applied AS5, I've remounted it about 5 times to get the best result. I must say I'm impressed, whatever volt that I dare to feed it, it never gets any hot. I've benched my SD3700+ with 1.71V as most, idle temp was 30 - 31C and after 7 mins of prime it showed 44 - 45C. With my 24/7 config 2.7GHz 1.65V (yes this sample is the worst overclocker there is) it stays 43 - 44C in prime at most and idles at 29C. With stock speeds it idled ~26C and prime temp was 35 - 36C, in a room temp of ~22C.
Silent or inaudible it is of course but it's useless for me to tell that since I have 8 case fans tho they are all rated between 16 - 22dB. I've also ran it at 50% speed 700rpm just for fun and that only made the temp go up with 3 - 4C. This is one of the best deals I've ever done. Definitely a keeper for me for a very long time.
Well i made this clock with my Zalman 9500, with 120mm on kabinet blowing into the zalman.
Also got it to 3140mhz...
I have the Zalman CNPS9500 LED and it cools very well. I have it set at about 1700RPM controlled by my Asus mobo Q-Fan, so if the CPU ever reaches 45C it'll kick it up to full speed. Only once have I seen it touch 40C and that was with elevated room temperatures.
O yeah, I'm using artic silver 2 also - didn't have any arctic silver 5 (stupid me forgot to order it with the heatsink) and I had this laying around so I figured its probably better than the stuff that came with the heatsink. Next time I order stuff I'm getting some AS5 to replace the AS2 as long as it is worth doing so.
