ATI's presentation: The Product Stack

i have to say it again.
to whom are those slides shown that every once ina w hile pop up at techpowerup.
cause may it be the nvidia or ati ones they are usualy more funny then serious.

every personw ith lil knowledge of the subject can see how much crap those slides are.

so i ask to whom are they shown?
do ATi and Nvidia show these to complete fanboys that go: woohoo. every time they pop in a new slide?

i would think that Nvidia and ATi show a difrent kind of slide to their partners.
slides that show why it is profitable for them to use this new GPU and the possibilitys etc.

not slides that show BS info about the difrence between a nvidia and ati gpu were every personw ith knowledge cna see that it is utter bull.
as im shure that partners deicde internally about their choices and involve people that know what their talking about.

so again for who are them nvidia/ati slides intended that we see every few weeks?

Really guys, there is always a bit of truth behind marketing slides, however hidden it may be.

The comment was just relating to the huge gap in time between WHQL releases such that depending on when you review the latest nvidia WHQL drivers could be months old.

If these rediculous slides wern't real, i'm sure we would have heard from ATi or Nvidia by now complaining of TP misrepping them.

That price/availability comparison though was a good/valid point. Obviously nvidia is having problems somewhere with the 7900 series, or just didn't have enough time to produce enough before launch. While either is a large faux-pas, and you know I don't want to bring it back to the forefront, ATi really shouldn't be the one to critisize just yet.

Also worth noting, as you did...the $499 price of the 7900gtx is not dropping, and people are still charging at or above that MSRP price. True, it's only been a couple weeks, but x1900's could be found at or below $500 at launch and still up to now. Newegg is selling multi OEM (everyone's favorite non-fluff way to get their fix) x1900xt's for $440-$450. Heck, you can find an a XTX from almost any company for $490.

You can't expect ATi to not kick Nvidia while they're down, but once 7900gtx supply/demand is reached and nvidia uses the cheapness of their die to lower prices...Expect some slides from Nvidia, and for them to magically appear on TP...and so it will continue until the end of time.
