I've always assumed that having a drier at an angle would make it to act like a small reciever.
I guess this isnt a problem if you have enough charge in a system to flood the bottom several rows of the condensor and everything after with liquid, but if a system has minimal charge for very light loads i'd have thought a slanted drier would be benificial...
