News: Zalman introduces CNPS9700

They just made the fins longer :( . It's a crappy design and I can explain why:

It is not possible to put the heatpipes more in the center of the fins because the fins would be in the way of eachother in the middle. What they did is lengthen the fins on the outside at the point were already in the 9500 extremely little heat is taken away.

The only thing these Zalman coolers are good for is for case modders because they look very pretty. If you want performce for half the price there are better solutions out, also very silent onces.

BTW: Shouldn't the sign in the pic say "high performance" and not "high permance"?

I very much agree. I own a 9500 and it stinks compared to the BT under heavy heavy loads/volts.

The only cool thing about the 9500 is that it draws air over the PWMIC and blows it out the rear case fan.

BT just blows a lot of air everywhere, but most imporantly, it sucks the heat out of the CPU.
