I hate to say it - but this keeps my GPU at 41 Max load at max CCC overclock...(X1900XTX)
Danger Den Maze 4 GPU block. I had to go water cooling to beat the heat...

(Disclamer: this is NOT meant to be a flame, derogatory, so PLEASE do not take offense. My sense of humor is outta wack today. Ok?)
Phooy, you guys with those VF700s are are all a buncha nubs. ;) This is how you air cool your X1900XT(X) cards. :fact:

Yep first post, long time lurker however.
What about Thermalright's V1 and V1 Ultra? I own both the V1 regular and the VF700 and here is what I got as far as temps:
Stock everything: Idle 47-50C Load 85-94C
Zalman VF700 @600/1230 Idle 40C Load 67-70C
Thermalright V1 (regular) @600/1230 Idle 37C Load <60C
After playing UT2004 for about 40 minutes the V1 did not even break 60C. Quite amazing. (By the way I used two fans on the V1 so that probably helped.)
Edit: I read about that mod on Anandtech Bull Dog. I really like what you did with that.
Why thank you. :)
Awesome mod!
What you used to bend the heatpipes Bull Dog ?
I had the fan mounted on the brackets(stock position) and I used my two hands. I just took it real slow and I didn't see any signs of kinking until the very end so it wasn't a problem.
So the heatpipes got some quality... Nice.
Thanks for posting this here.
Im kinda torn on what i want for this too, the accelero looks great just for the noise levels but that v1 ultra would be my perferred choice if it perfroms decently
I have a new project log done for anyone thats interested.

Automatic fan control based on temperature, somthing completely unrelated to video cards, and a custom PWM IC heatsink.

recently purchased the Zalman Fatal1ty FS-V7 cooler for my X1900XT card...much better then the stock cooler in looks and performance...the red LED adds a nice contrast to the Blue LED case fans..here are some pics...

so what temps you getting now compared to the stock cooler Titus?
average temps with Zalman FS-V7 (performance setting)-- idle= 42 load= 55Quote:

Awesome stuff bull dog. I'll keep an eye out for you, because I'm sure I'll be seeing more cool stuff from you in the future:)
if there's any truth in this comparison then the thermalright cooler would be best.

I hear that the stock cooler beats a vf-700 in gpu cooling. :-\ I know it does with my x1900xtx.. those stock coolers pwn.
I think they are loud and not very good at cooling imhoQuote:

This is using the little fan on the left which is a little faster than the stock fan. The specs for the fan is 5300RPM 23.39 cfm with 38.65 dBa (I can't hear it over the case fans). The card I'm using is the 1900XT @ 729/810 with voltages of 1.500 - 2.102 - 2.086 - 1.501. With those votages the card is idling right now at 38° after I've run the bench. Obviously with the bigger fan the temps are even better but it's a beast.Quote:

with the noisy fan the temps are about 2-4° better. What are your temps with equal volts/clocks?Quote:
