U can cut them easily out of those Armaflex rolls with a skalpell.
I get them to the PCB with 4 small drops of Arctic Ceramique - doesn't do any harm to the PCB, keeps the Armaflex pieces in position and is easy to remove with some Acetone.
When U get the cooler to the DIE now it will always connect in the right angel without cracking the core.
Straight pressure never is a problem - I gave so much pressure to the naked DIE caused in bending my aluminia made holding clip for the cooler !!!:eek:
Had to use a hammer and a wooden block to get it right again.
So in my opinion pressure is no problem to the naked DIE - as long as it takes place in the right angle.
