yeah i figure since 14x fsaa + 16x aniso is playable @ 1600x1200, seing by what margin, it should be playable in 1920x1200, why even bother benching anything less then 10xfsaa 16x aniso...

Not really a fair comparison though crossfire x1900 vs single gtx 512

I don't know for you, but i play in 1600x1200 (i have the cash for a 24" LCD monitor, but i figured that i'd rather it be HDCP compliant for full 1080p videos :D ), it really doesnt require any comment as a conclusion :stick:Quote:
le positionnement des samples chez ATI est optimal alors qu´il ne l´est pas chez Nvidia ce qui permet au SuperAA 14x d´afficher une meilleure qualité dans certains cas. Mais dans d´autres cas, le SLI 16x sera meilleur.
SLI AA doesn't even work in splinter cellQuote:
Vous noterez que ces 2 modes d´antialiasing ne fonctionnent pas avec Splinter Cell chez Nvidia. La raison est que le driver empêche d´appliquer un antialiasing sur ce jeu.
You WILL note that x1900 cf is CPU bound in at least 3 games (HL2, AoW, AoE), and seems CPU bound in lots of others... but a bit less...
you have to consider that all these benches are ran with great Nvidia drivers and Original CD ATI drivers for the x19000 cards, and even with that being the case the 1900's are still in the lead in the majority of the test. I think the clear winner is the x1900's when it comes to hardware. software Nvidia has had a lot of traial and error to perfect drivers.
I would get CF if I wanted to game at 10x+ FSAA for sure. Showing me how it performs in 4xAA is kind of worthless because a single x1900XTX could handle that well enough.
CF/SLI only show their true power at these high quality settings. And comparing image quality, I think it would be very unwise to waste money on outdated hardware.

X1900XT v 7800GXT 512MB comparisons:

Overall there isn't much between the two platforms/cards. :fact:
Their conclusion is dead nuts on. Although I've been labelled a heretic and a bit of a party pooper by some of my more edgey brethren here on XS :) , I just can't get myself to spring for a X1900XT CF re-fit. Spending more to get more hasn't been my problem in the past, but I guess I don't see the improvement in this case when it comes to multi gpu.Quote:

Why is that, according to you?Quote:

these guies also agree... http://firingsquad.com/hardware/ati_..._aa/page11.asp
A lot of newer games seem to be more and more shader intensive. Processing heavy shader intensive games is ATI's strong point.Quote:

Get the Crossfire X1900 set up if you game extreme res with AA|AF. Drivers are only getting better.
Thanks for clearing that up :thumbsup:Quote:

what was the point of your poste exactly everyone has already stated that single card X1900 is better than GTX.
Maybe you overlooked it?

ATI CrossFire based on RADEON X1900 XT, 2x512MB is currently the fastest tandem of 3D accelerators for games.
It's sometimes outperformed by a similar duet of two GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB cards. But on the whole, it's a tad more powerful. Besides, SLI operates at higher frequencies. CF will certainly look like a winner versus a regular 7800 GTX 512MB SLI.
