Its not a "never ending war for nothing" .... as you stated. Without direct competition there is no need for innovation, not to mention that the competition between these 2 directly affects price point for the higher end cards. You better believe that due to the launch of the X1900 series we will see prices start to drop for the 512 GTXs, not to mention a possible step up in time frame for 7900 release.
Something to think about.

Ok, so the crossfire action. I should be getting a different board I see? Currently DFI Expert. But the noise of the fan really drove me nuts. What boards have the xtra space for the video cards?
What!?
XTX for $50 under MSRP on launch date!?
Great launch ATi, this really makes up for all of those BS paper lauches of yore.
brown box. But at least on launch day you know its not a return. Anyone know what kind of bundle the sapphire cards come with?
right now i think all thats available in the US is the EQS Ak1 mvp, the asus A8R-mvp and the DFI RDX200. The sapphire pure crossfire advantage can be had off ebay, bigfootcompuers.com(canada but ships us iirc) and here afaik.Quote:

So can anyone confirm that the XTX's all have 1.1ns memory?
no, but Sapphire's at least have always been exactly the same as the BBATi stuff. I would completely expect all XTX's to have 1.1ns goodness, IMO.

Someone posted that the XT card has BJ11 = 1.1ns and it's samsung week 548 which is same as XTX :)
Just for reference the x1800xt has BJ12 1.2ns samsung week 543 :)
Damn and all those crossfire boards have poopoo usb perf, right? I wonder how this would affect say...transfer rates of Ipods, SD cards, etc?
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Sapphire made all ATI's cards...
GREAT FIND! TYQuote:

Is the XTX worth the $75-100 more than the XT for a small bump in core/mem speeds and the 1.1 memory?
What are you thinking?
